We hear a lot about hot flashes, sleep changes and dry skin during menopause. But what about the changes happening to our hair, brows and lashes?
Estrogen plays a role in supporting healthy hair cycles, and as estrogen levels decline during menopause, you may start noticing changes in your scalp hair, brows or lashes.
There’s another piece of the puzzle that doesn’t get talked about as much: elastin. As we age, our natural elastin production declines, and that matters around the hair follicle too.
So if your brows suddenly seem sparser, your lashes don’t look quite as full or your hair feels different, you’re not imagining the change. And you’re certainly not the only one experiencing it.
