Update: Boulder County has issued a new mask mandate.

So, masks will be required during sessions at my office or your location. *Unless* you have an outdoor space to receive a massage - this is a really wonderful option if you have the space at your home!

I've been wearing a double mask (surgical mask under a 2 layer cotton homemade mask) for the past few weeks, but had been giving clients the option to take their mask off in the treatment room.

Also, I'm going to apply for an exception once BCPH opens the application site - they are offering an exception to the mask mandate for fully vaccinated businesses. As a sole practitioner who is vaccinated hopefully I'll qualify, however it would mean that I will require all clients to also verify their vaccination status.

Due to the recent surge of the Delta variant and aligning with CDC guidance, Boulder County Public Health (BCPH) issued Public Health Order 2021-08 requiring masks in all indoor public settings during periods of substantial or high transmission as defined by the CDC’s Data Tracker. The order goes into effect Friday, September 3 at 5 p.m. and requires masks in all indoor public spaces for all individuals 2 years and older regardless of vaccination status.

The order will monitor the CDC’s community transmission tracker in Boulder County and require masks during periods of high and substantial transmission and for the first 21 days after moving into moderate or low transmission. After 21 days in moderate or low transmission level masks will not be required but only recommended, although the public health order will stay in place. If Boulder County moves back into high or substantial transmission for five consecutive days, the order will again require indoor masking.

In Boulder some clients want a therapist that has *not* been vaccinated. That's not me! I am fully vaccinated as of February 2021. (I get the flu shot every year too). I'm back to wearing a mask during sessions and, as always, thoroughly washing my hands before and after every session. I'm also taking my temperature daily in the event that I have been infected with the coronavirus and am asymptomatic. I wear a mask when I go to the store and otherwise am social distancing. If you have any questions about pre-cautions I'm taking to protect my clients please reach out!

You know how important vitamin C is to your health, did you also know that the scent can boost your mood? It's true! The scent of orange, lemon, lime and grapefruit not only help to lift your mood, it can also help you to feel more energized, and more focused. And there's more! The visual effects are also beneficial. Having a bowl of citrus fruit on your counter where you can see it regularly can induce feelings of joy.

I use Jason's C-Effects orange face lotion during sessions and consistently hear my clients saying "Mmmmm! I love the scent of this lotion!" And I do too! Aromatherapy in massage is one of my favorite parts about being a massage therapist, after all I benefit too!
