This tension relates to actual gluteus minimus, medius, and maximus tightness AND can be a culprit behind low back tension and pain.

Acubliss is possible in pregnancy!
DM “blog” for the full article, but let’s start here >>>
“I’m dealing with terrible nausea, and nothing seems to help. Would acupuncture be safe during pregnancy?”
This question—or variations of it—comes up regularly with our pregnant massage clients.
Whether it’s morning sickness, back pain, anxiety, or insomnia, many are curious about acupuncture but aren’t sure if it’s safe or effective during pregnancy.
🤰 Here’s what I’ve learned from years of referring clients to skilled prenatal acupuncturists: this ancient practice can be incredibly supportive during pregnancy, addressing everything from first trimester nausea to preparing your body for labor.
DM “blog” if you want more info. If you’ve already had a great experience with acupuncture, share your favorite practitioners in the comments below!
Huge thanks to Karuna Acupuncture , Simba from Boulder Birth & Holistic Health , and Kate Blalack for their contributions to this piece!

I mean, I definitely keep my therapy appointments, but please- don’t underestimate the power of a day with no place to be, no child to tend, and no bra.

Just my holiday weekend reminder that your “summer ready body” is whatever body you are living in this summer: whether that’s bigger, smaller, more toned, less toned, more or less of whatever you expected it to be.
🎯 Even if it’s in a bathing suit you bought at Target at 9:30pm that you tried on over your compression socks and leggings outside their closed changing rooms because you are the only person in your family who forgot to pack their suit for a weekend at the lake. 🤦♀️
🏖️ Because you know what your kids and friends never said, “remember the size on your swimsuit tag?”
They said, “remember when we went to the lake and you threw me in” and “remember when we played in the sand” and “remember when we all actually got to be together”.
Just a pregnant lady over here doing her own plantar fasciitis routine to feel good before some summer travel and hiking… (I’m actually watching my own youtube video 🤦♀️ )
DM “calfstretch” to get the 5-minute and 30-minute yoga routines I’m using to stay active and ease foot and calf pain.
Inspired by a client, I made the video while not pregnant by a client’s request but it’s based on my tried and true routine I use for my own occasional plantar pain and tight calves.
Full disclosure, I actually made this particular video for a client whose career is doing hair, BUT it is SO applicable to everyone carrying for babies and small children because of the repetitive motion involved in feeding, carrying, and diaper changing. Add modern life with phones, computers, and general stress and you would be AMAZED how many of my clients are carrying tension in their forearms.
All you need is a ball (tennis balls, massage balls, and even kid’s play balls all work fine) and a flat surface.
Send questions and let me know how it goes!

🥳Celebrate some major mama-milestones with us and find out how we do our daily, monthly, and splurge self-care over the motherhood journey! - DM ‘blog’ for the full article -
👨🎓Jeanne and Shelly are both watching their sons graduate from high school and step into young adulthood. Kayla is in the thick of toddlerhood with her two-year-old. And me? I’m chasing my four-year-old while growing baby number two.
🌿”How do you find time for self-care?” is one of the questions I hear most often from clients—especially from other parents trying to navigate the demands of raising children while also caring for their own bodies and spirits.
💆♀️As massage therapists, we spend our days caring for others’ bodies. As mothers, we spend our energy caring for our families. But what about caring for ourselves?
☕️I asked our team to share honestly about their self-care practices—not the idealized Instagram version, but the real, messy, imperfect ways we actually take care of ourselves through different stages of motherhood. Here’s what we do.
