Susan Prentiss Yoga
Learn to relax mindfully through yoga. Like many of us, you may find it difficult to relax and experience moments of calm during your day.
With that in mind, Susan's inspiration for teaching yoga and meditation is to help you enjoy more of these moments on the mat and in your daily life. Drawing from her trainings with David Magone, Judith Hanson Lasater and Lama Migmar Tseten, Susan has learned to work with the energies of the body, mind and heart to promote balance, health and happiness. Her thoughtfully sequenced physical postures, breathing techniques and guided meditations combine to release tension and stress while cultivating mindfulness and renewal. Through the power of awareness, you can more easily begin the process of letting go to discover a place of inner peace and freedom that—if you only take time to notice—is available to you at any time. With a balanced mind and body, Susan believes you can more effectively actualize your wishes for a life of personal growth, happiness and fulfillment. Extending beyond yourself, you can then make positive contributions to your circles of connection. If you're curious about discovering the transformative effects of relaxing the body and quieting the mind, or are already enjoying their profound benefits, let's practice together. Susan completed her 500-hour RYT certification under PranaVayu Yoga founder David Magone and received her Relax and Renew® Trainer certification in Restorative Yoga from Judith Hanson Lasater. She also holds certifications in Shamatha Calm-Abiding Meditation and Mangalam Yantra Yoga from Khenpo Migmar Tseten Rinpoche at the Harvard University Buddhist Chaplaincy. Before discovering yoga, Susan's literature degree from Dartmouth College and a graphic design certificate from MassArt nurtured her interests in language, art and design, preparing her for careers in publishing, graphic design and education.

Many of you are already practicing voluntary social distancing. I designed this PSA to urge others to join you. Physical distancing slows the spread of COVID-19. What you do now can save lives later. Feel free to share.

Mostly cloudy or clear?
How do you cultivate a clear mind when so many thoughts and emotions come up that disturb your mental peace? A great way to start is by relaxing the body. As the body lets go tension, breathing becomes fuller. A door opens. Fresh air comes in. A new ease and openness brings more spaciousness to the body and mind. More space to move through feelings of stuckness. More clarity to cut through mental and emotional clutter. This expansive awareness displaces the subroutines of your mind and sets you on a path that's closer to your true heart.
Look up at the clear blue sky today and notice how your mind smiles in recognition...because it sees itself and knows.

We try so many strategies: new calendars, to-do lists, New Year’s resolutions, and endless promises to ourselves to do less. But we don’t. So every day do these three things instead. One, a 20 minute relaxation. Lie down, set a…
