The phones are safe for now, but from my understanding these are proposals for future happenings. Prior to AG Campbell’s Creator Briefing I emailed my question and here was the response.
“The AGO is on its second year of the office’s first ever Youth Council, comprised of high school aged students from every county in the state. (Coincidentally, we’re also recruiting for our third Youth Council if you know anyone who’d be interested in applying!) Members of our Youth Council have been consulted and have provided heavy feedback to all of our youth tech-related policies - we know that when adults who don’t have their lived experiences make unilateral decisions on their behalf, those decisions aren’t as informed as they should be.
Our office’s approach is only to restrict cell phone use during class time and to put safer limitations on social media use for young people, like limiting specific features such as endless scroll, autoplay, etc... Features that use the same addictive software that casinos use in slot machines.”
While on the train I observed that 90% of riders were on their phone across the lifespan. Again, I’m curious to see how this goes, but I’m interested in teen input. How would you feel if phones were completely banned from Boston Public Schools?

Should schools be designated “no phone zones?”

In an effort to expand community voices and perspectives, check out our first blog feature | .v1 : Anthony is a “Jamaican-American multidisciplinary artist, designer and writer from Queens, New York. He is the co-founder of Keep Cool, a brand and idea-factory that creates spaces for this generation of world-builders through art and culture. His work is an investigation of the felt, yet unseen–the spiritual, philosophical, and sociological undertones of modern society–aspiring toward a rediscovery of collective histories imbedded in our individual identities. As such, his approach to making is intuitive and subjective guided by the question of how subjectivity could also be a pathway to substantial truth, hence bridging the gap between foundational philosophies and modern experience. His mediums of choice span painting, object-making, graphic design, writing, photography and moving images.

Dancing is good for the souuuul 🕺🏽🪩
Inspired by the hit show Queenie (2024). The first season ends with her phone alarm sounding. She then explains to a friend that she implements 5 min. dance breaks into her everyday routine to improve her mental health. They then begin to dance together!
When’s the last time you danced? Better yet, when’s the last time you dance like no one was watching?
The 70s was disco heaven! An era filled with lots of dancing and GREAT music! Highly recommend adding some dance grooves to your playlist and letting loose! For your mental health of course!

Girlfriends (2000): the REAL reason the FICTIONAL friendship failed!
My favorite blog post to date!!
“After a rewatch of the hit 2000 series Girlfriends, I think I finally cracked the code! William Dent, the lone male figure within the female-dominated friend group, often questioned what sparked the tension and drama within the group. His hypothesis? Suppressed le***an desires. However, after revisiting the series with fresh eyes, I’ve developed a different and, frankly, more realistic theory.
In this article we breakdown the mother figure obsession psychology, mommy issues examples, and how they manifested within Toni, Joan, and Lynn primarily!
In this article, we’ll break down:
Mommy issues meaning and how it plays out in Girlfriends
Clear mommy issue signs seen in Joan, Lynn, and Toni
Specific mommy issues examples from key episodes
A deeper look into what causes mommy issues, especially in women
The emotional realities of women with mommy issues
And yes, what it means to say “I have mommy issues”
Girlfriends wasn’t just about friendship, fashion, and finding the one. It gave us a raw and sometimes humorous look into unresolved maternal trauma. If you’ve ever questioned your own mother-daughter dynamics, this breakdown is for you…”

Reading for leisure brings me joy and during grad school I supplemented the school reading with books. This was my way of diversifying the content.
🛋️ I stumbled upon .thema ‘s book and ironically, during my Trauma and the contemporary family course, my prof. played her TedxTalk.
🤝🏾Homecoming provided me with the language to understand how trauma impacts the body, spirit, and mind. I also, utilized the shared experiences within the novel to assist me in my work during internship.
💕Excerpt from the blog: ”My internship supervisor asked me if I was in therapy and I told her that it doesn’t work for me. Ironic right, the girl in grad school to become a therapist is telling people that therapy doesn’t work for her. Well, I later explained to her that I need something with a little more kick. ‘I genuinely think that I need trauma-informed therapy. I can talk you under the table and talk-therapy just isn’t a good fit for the type of work I think I need’.
I have ghosted therapists because I struggled with communicating that journaling, solution-focused approaches, and short-term interventions are not going to push me to where I need to go. However, ‘Homecoming: Healing Trauma to Reclaim Your Authentic Self’ showed me that I’ve been emotionally stuck and I’m ready to move forward. I’m ready to return home.”
📰This is a previous book club selection, but I highly recommend reading the novel for yourself.
Head to sincerelysanguine to join the community! Also, I understand that not everyone has a Goodreads account, I’m interested in brainstorming other alternatives to facilitate the book club to include more people! All ears in the comments section 👂🏾

There’s Cowboys in Philly?
🐎 Did you know that there’s Black cowboys (and girls) in Philly today?
On this Juneteenth learn about the transformative impact of horses through the story of the concrete cowboys.
I didn’t know this was a thing until I stumbled upon the film Concrete Cowboy. While watching the Netflix movie Concrete Cowboy, I continued to say “this can’t be real.” It is real and it’s still active today! There are horses in South Philly and they’re healing the community! Did you know this?

“I’m in no rush to have kids—I’m still recovering from raising yours.” 😮💨
If you’re the eldest daughter, you already know what this means, deep in your bones.
You were the built-in babysitter, the emotional buffer, the responsible one.
You were parentified, praised for being strong, and punished for having needs.
Now, you’re exhausted. You’re navigating adult relationships while still healing from childhood roles you never asked for.
Dating feels like caregiving. Boundaries feel like betrayal. Rest feels like guilt.
But hear this: You deserve to take up space. You deserve softness. You deserve to be held.
In our latest blog post, we explore Eldest Daughter Syndrome. What it is, how it impacts your relationships, and how to start freeing yourself from the weight of being “the strong one.”
🖤 Let’s talk about it. Let’s unlearn it. Let’s heal it.
