Is still a thing?!? 🤌🏼💪🏼

I went back and forth on posting this. And I’m sorry it’s a long read. But, worth it IMO! Before I started bettering my health and losing weight, I would be on the other side of the phone looking at pictures just like this of other women and saying to myself- “wow they lost all that weight, they must feel great and be so happy now!” But, that couldn’t be further from reality. You see a picture on social media. You don’t see the silent battles, you don’t see the daily struggles someone faces, the ups and downs. As a mom I struggle with pouring into myself. But, I know I’m a happier, healthier Jacquie and Mom, if I do! 💜

In between these pictures, there are 5 years! But, also in between these pictures, there is: love, loss, depression, anxiety, weight loss, weight gain, tears, therapy, celebrations, laughs, overthinking, sleepless nights, early mornings, canceled plans, breakdowns, hope, joy, laziness, anger, gratitude, passion, hardships, happiness, consistency, inconsistency, loneliness, motivation, discipline, but most importantly- commitment to self! See what I did there 🏋🏽‍♀️

It’s not just diet & exercise. Because if it was, everyone would do it! Talk a little s**t to yourself, deal with the s**t in your head and life. I’m not saying tear yourself down and spiral. (I mean, I’m a sucker for a good spiral session, but it solves absolutely nothing) 🤷🏻‍♀️ Start by taking 15 minutes to yourself, then 30, then take an hour. It doesn’t have to be fitness related. It can be sitting in your car listening to music. Grabbing a coffee, and window shopping. Anything, you like! It’s not going to happen over night. Or in a month, or even a year. You have to start somewhere. ⏳

I’m not a professional in any aspect. But, I can offer advice from experience, and let you know what works for me, and how I continue to show up for, MYSELF. 💃🏻

Oh Donna,

What I would give to have one more kitchen table conversation with you on Converse Ave, while you ripped a Marlboro red in one hand, with your book in the other sipping on a Coke. You gave me my bestest friend in the whole world. You welcomed me into your family, your home and never made me feel like I was just your daughter’s friend. Your love and warmth, was something you always made sure I felt. You made sure I wasn’t alone on holidays, you made sure I never went without. You knew my deepest darkest secrets, but never made me feel less than. I think I speak for all of us, actually. When gathering over a meal at the kitchen table, or getting ready to go to the club, we could confide in you like you were our best friend, talk some s**t, etc. but you would never hesitate to put us in our place when we were being as****es! Oh the laughs and tears we’ve shared, that I will always hold in my heart. Eleni, thank you for sharing your mom with me, sharing her with all of us. I wish you didn’t have to feel this pain. I’m so grateful your mom has been set free from all that has held her back these past few years. But I know the void she has left behind. Watching you take care of her, is something I’ll admire as I long as I live. I’m so proud of you. Donna, I’ll do everything possible to guide Eleni on this journey of loss and grief. I know you’ll be her strength, and guardian angel. We were all so lucky to have you, Donna.

My name is Jacqueline Masone but everyone calls me Jacquie! I’m a mother of boy/girl twins who will be turning 4 next month! I’m a Ta**us ♉️ through and through! I’m currently on a “weight loss journey” and down just about 80 pounds! However, through this journey, I have learned so much about health and wellness being a part of your everyday life, not just temporarily!
