It TRAGIC.

Four hours on a masterpiece and nothing to show for it.

It should be a crime.

Running behind, processing taking too long, client showing up early or late, not working fast enough. Whatever the reason is it makes for a sad moment for us hardworking hairstylists.

But who can relate?

MYTH: Once you go box black, there’s no going back!
🛑WRONG🛑

Okay well in some cases it’s wrong. If you’ve been coloring your hair box black for 75 years and you want to be platinum. Think again, that’s layers and years of overlapping.

But Jessica didn’t do that.

She went from platinum to red to black and now we’re working our way back to blonde the healthiest way possible.

Her goal is long healthy blonde hair, and that’s the way this train is headed.

Next stop, hair goal success.

I deep conditioned her hair with the cut it and blew it out. We even added a little clip in red hair extension for fun.

Watch out second grade! Here she comes. 🥹

You wouldnt believe me if I told you she went from blonde to red to black back to blonde.

Did it happen overnight? No.

We’re there those uncomfortable months of transition color. Yes.

But is a perfect example of being patient and hard work paying off.

Because hello, look how gorgeous her blonde is now?!

I love a good bleach and tone and gossip moment.

Blonde? We’ve got you. Here’s your summer check list to keeping your blonde perfect.

Shampoo 2-3 times a week.
Condition every time.
Deep condition once a week.

Use UV/ Heat protectant even if you aren’t heat styling. Pair it with a leave in conditioner for added bonus points.

Blowdry (even if that’s just drying your roots) leaving moisture on the scalp can cause issues like flaking.
Healthy scalp = healthy hair.

You hair is the most fragile when wet so you don’t want it to stay wet.

No hot tools for one week, go longer if possible. Heat and blonde are worst enemies.

Every 4 weeks: clarify to remove product build up and do this especially if you’re in the chlorine or salt water regularly.

Every 6 weeks: toner or gloss to add shine and refresh color. These aren’t permanent so they fade quickly in the sun.

Every 8 weeks: touch up your blonde and get a trim.

Here’s what I do to get my hair ready for vacation.

1 week before: I do any coloring or treatments necessary. Covering grays, adding highlights. You name it. I need to look amazing for pics.

2-3 days before: I stock up/ refill my travel hair products.
-shampoo and conditioner
-leave in treatments
-detangler
-UV/Heat protectant
-Conditioning Treatments
-Hairspray
-Anti frizz oil
-Mousse/ Gel

1 Day before: I treat myself to a blowdry. With work and packing I need a little pampering thrown in there.

Night before/ morning of: style it how I want for the day. I love arriving all put together.

Week after: conditioning treatment. Especially after a beach/ island vacation. My hair gets so dry from the chlorine and sea salt.
