Step one color correction - what she came in with vs. what she left with after our first 2 hour session

Lately this client has been coming to me for hair trims while she’s in the process of growing out her old vivid color to reach her natural. Unfortunately tho she had to come in for an *emergency* color correction yesterday after a bad experience with an at home product. In an attempt to get some more of the old vivid color out of her hair at home, she used an at home color remover. Unfortunately it missed the pink and vivid color mostly, and instead stripped her natural root causing THIS.. chaotic, horrific color🤣😭 and severely compromised her ends.
Due to my busy schedule, All I had was a small appointment yesterday to try to get her somewhat balanced.
In a 2 hour slot we:
1. Drastically Corrected her root and balanced the color and tone up there
2. Balanced the mids and ends by camouflaging the pink and softly filling those blonde pieces. The goal there wasn’t perfection but a more balanced canvass.
3. Melted the roots into the mids
4. Deep conditioning and trim - her ends were still compromised but better than where she started after trimming some off. she also will be coming in the salon for continued conditioning treatments and trims in between sessions

The biggest goal in this short appointment was simply fixing the roots and somewhat balancing everything else, she definitely left better than where she started. Her next session when we have a longer duration time, we will target the mid shaft better. For the time being tho I sent her home with products to give her hair some TLC till I can have her back in.

This was appointment one, stay tuned for the next phase!

And let this be everyone’s lesson, please don’t use at home color removers cause you never truly know what’s in them! 😭🙏
