Quite a bit.

Bison tallow is naturally rich in lipids—fatty compounds that play an important role in the skin barrier.

Its fatty-acid profile includes oleic, palmitic, stearic and linoleic acids, which contribute to the way tallow feels, spreads and interacts with the skin.

And for aging skin, this becomes especially interesting.

As we age, our skin naturally produces fewer lipids and tends to lose moisture more easily. That can leave skin feeling drier, thinner and less supple.

Tallow doesn’t “moisturize” your skin by adding water.

It’s an emollient and occlusive. It helps soften the skin and create a protective lipid layer that helps slow moisture loss.
