GLP-1 therapy can reduce your appetite—but eating less is not the same as nourishing your body well.

Three habits can make a meaningful difference:

🍽️ Practice portion control
Choose smaller, balanced portions, eat slowly, and stop when comfortably satisfied. Large meals may worsen nausea, bloating, reflux, or uncomfortable fullness.

💪 Prioritize protein
Include a quality protein source with each meal or snack—such as eggs, Greek yogurt, chicken, fish, beans, cottage cheese, or tofu. Adequate protein helps preserve muscle, supports recovery, and keeps you satisfied while losing weight. Your ideal amount should be personalized by your healthcare provider or dietitian.

💧 Stay hydrated
Because GLP-1 therapy can reduce appetite and thirst—and may cause nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea—it can become easier to fall behind on fluids. Sip water consistently throughout the day instead of waiting until you feel thirsty. Follow any fluid restrictions provided by your healthcare professional.

✅ Remember: The goal is not to eat as little as possible. The goal is to give your body the nutrition and hydration it needs while developing habits you can maintain long term.

Contact your healthcare provider if you experience persistent vomiting or diarrhea, dizziness, dark urine, or difficulty keeping fluids down.

This information is for educational purposes and is not a substitute for individualized medical advice.

What have you found works best for you to ensure you are nourishing your best while on GLP therapy?

🍌 High-Protein Chocolate Chip Banana Bread — Muffins or Loaf

Sometimes the goal isn’t to remove everything you enjoy—it’s to make a few smart swaps that improve the nutrition without ruining the food.

This banana bread recipe keeps the moisture and sweetness from ripe bananas, adds extra protein, and cuts back on some of the added fat and chocolate. You can bake it as 12 muffins or one banana bread loaf.

Ingredients

* 3 ripe bananas, mashed
* 2 large eggs
* 2 egg whites
* ¾ cup plain 0% or 2% Greek yogurt
* 1 tablespoon melted butter
* 1 tablespoon unsweetened applesauce
* 1 teaspoon vanilla
* ½ cup Swerve monk fruit sweetener
* 1½ cups all-purpose flour
* ½ cup protein powder*
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 1 teaspoon salt
* ¼ cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
* Optional: 1 tablespoon Chobani Zero Sugar Sweet Cream Creamer

*A whey/casein blend or protein powder designed for baking tends to work better than straight whey isolate.

Directions

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Mash the bananas, then mix in the eggs, egg whites, Greek yogurt, melted butter, applesauce, vanilla, sweetener, and creamer if using.

In a separate bowl, combine the flour, protein powder, baking soda, and salt.

Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir just until combined. Avoid overmixing—protein powder can make baked goods tough if worked too much.

Fold in the mini chocolate chips.

For muffins: Divide evenly among 12 lined or lightly greased muffin cups. Bake at 350°F for approximately 18–22 minutes.

For a loaf: Pour into a greased or parchment-lined 9×5 loaf pan. Bake at 350°F for approximately 50–60 minutes. If the top begins browning too quickly, loosely cover it with foil during the final portion of baking.

For either version, it’s done when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs. Let it cool before slicing—the texture will continue to set as it cools.

Approximate nutrition — 12 muffins

Each muffin is approximately:

150–160 calories | 8–9 g protein | 21–23 g carbs | 3–4 g fat

For a loaf, divide the total nutrition by however many slices you cut.

The best part? You still get banana bread and chocolate chips. We’re not trying to turn every food into chicken breast. 😂

Small changes done consistently can make a significant difference over time.

Would you make this as muffins or a loaf? And what would you add—walnuts, cinnamon, blueberries, or leave it exactly as is?
