A Decade…
September 28, 2016 was my first day on staff at Tylertown Baptist Church.
Since then, I’ve moved a few times, served in different places and capacities, met countless people, and learned many things. Today is 10 years of Gospel Ministry.
While I’m currently serving in ways I never imagined, the Lord remains faithful.
In honor of A Decade of Ministry, here are 10 truths, for your consideration, in no particular order:
1. The Lord is faithful.
2. Protect and strengthen your heart, mind, and body.
3. You will be misunderstood by people, but you serve the Lord God. So honor him.
4. Guard your marriage and family. They are your ministry.
5. Trust Christ—not people, associations, or conventions.
6. Cultivate the discipline of evangelism.
7. Find old guys and ask them to invest in you.
8. Pastoral Leadership is a craft that is best learned at the feet of Jesus.
9. Pace yourself in the work.
10. Lift heavy things until they aren’t heavy anymore—then lift something heavier.
📸 Making notes at Moss Point’s Cruisin the Coast in 2024. We were intentional in making and taking opportunities to share the Gospel. I shared with at least 4 people that day, and the team shared with countless more.
A common item on the pharmacy shelf, but one that’s almost forgotten: witch hazel.
This old-school staple is one of those simple products that deserves a place in your medicine cabinet.
Witch hazel can help soothe irritated skin and is useful for minor cuts, scrapes, and razor irritation. It can also help cleanse and tone the skin, making it especially handy after shaving and other grooming services.
It’s always on hand in the shop for those moments when your skin revolts during razor work—and it’s a must-have at our house when the mosquitoes get active.
