Sorrel & Co grew out of a simple frustration: skincare had become complicated in all the wrong ways.

Real Question. Real Answer.

Does pollution really age the skin? Turns out, yes.

You saw the smoke here in the west. Same idea applies everywhere else, too. Even in places we've lived, like Chicago and New York.

The oxidative stress sun causes, airborne pollutants cause it too. Same damage pathway, different source.

Green Tea EGCG is studied against both, which is why it's in Defense Serum.

Not a sunscreen swap. A second layer of defense.

Last night in Billings, Montana.

The sun didn't set, it just disappeared into smoke. This is what wildfire season looks like here, familiar, and somehow still strange every time.

That's my own front yard in these photos, the same field, the same grasses I planted right outside my window. Even Defense Serum was photographed right there, bottle in the window, those same grasses blurred behind it.

You don't need a smoky sky for this to matter, though. Living in a city means daily exposure to exhaust and particulate matter, a different source, but the same kind of oxidative stress your skin has to deal with. Green tea's antioxidants are specifically studied for defending against both.

Smoke tonight or traffic every day, the skin underneath is handling more than what's visible. That's exactly what Defense Serum is for, Green Tea EGCG, chosen specifically for environmental defense.

Some nights the sky reminds you why the extra step is worth it. For a lot of people, it's just Tuesday.

Where do I even start?

New to Sorrel? Maybe you’ve never had a real skin routine. Maybe you’ve tried everything and your skin still reacts to half of it. Either way, start the same place: cleanse and moisturize.

When skin is reactive, stings, or seems to react to everything, dermatologists don’t reach for more, they simplify. A calm, consistent barrier is what lets any active actually work. Layering on more too soon usually backfires.

Cleansing gently and sealing in hydration takes the pressure off. A couple weeks here, and your skin starts showing you what it actually needs next, instead of you guessing.

You don’t need to know your skin type or your biggest skin challenge to start. You just need these two.

Peeling is not the retinol working.

It is the barrier telling you the pace is wrong. Back off to twice a week and nothing is lost. Week two is when most people quit. It is the week to slow down, not stop.

Three ingredients. Three reasons they're in your Firming Cream.

DMAE is what we built this cream around. It's one of the few firmness-focused actives with an actual placebo-controlled study behind it (Grossman, 2005), testing the look of firmer, more defined skin along the jaw and neck.

CoQ10 works underneath as an antioxidant, supporting your skin's own energy production so it can keep doing its job over time.

Hyaluronic Acid rounds it out with real hydration, plumping the skin and supporting everything DMAE and CoQ10 are working on.

Look at the ingredient list and you'll see all three sitting right after water, first four ingredients. Ingredient lists go by concentration. That's not an accident.

(The color's a tell, too. That soft yellow isn't added, it's the CoQ10 itself.)

"Along the jaw is where I notice it. Skin that looks a little firmer, a little more defined." — Kris

There’s a trend going around called “Kinda chic to…” Most people use it for small things. A nap. A cup of coffee.

I think it works for bigger things too.

Kinda chic to chase Northern Lights.
Kinda chic to chase rainbows.
Kinda chic to chase a sunset, even the hundredth one.
Kinda chic to still believe something beautiful is worth pulling over the car for.

I’ve had three careers now, each one about 20 years.

Director, producer, and writer in ministry. Then 20 years raising four kids, plus everything that came with that season, freelancing, coaching, bookkeeping, just showing up.

Now this. Sorrel. Hopefully 20 more years of it. Still helping people, just in a different way.

None of those chapters asked my permission to end. They just did, and then something new started. I didn’t always see it coming. I just kept paying attention, the way you’d watch the sky for a color you weren’t even sure would show up.

It’s never too late to start something. Never too late to build, learn, or believe in something you haven’t tried yet.

Keep chasing the sky. Keep dreaming a little bigger than feels comfortable. All things can be made new.

If you haven’t seen us yet, I’d love to hear what you think. Link in bio.

Retinol. Where are you right now?

Never tried, early weeks, or long past the adjustment. The stage decides the pace. Wherever you are is fine. Judging it too early is the only mistake.

Morning, sealed. That's the goal, so where do you even start?

If a full routine feels like a lot, start here: cleanser and moisturizer. That's the foundation. Everything else builds on top of it.

It's not just an easier place to start, it's the smarter one. A healthy barrier is what makes every other product actually work. Starting simple means fewer variables, an easier way to spot what your skin needs, and a routine you'll actually stick with, which matters more than any single ingredient.

Daily Cleanser to gently clean without stripping. Dew Cream to seal it all in, a lightweight formula with Niacinamide and Allantoin, chosen for their well-studied ability to support a comfortable barrier and soft, smooth-feeling skin.

You don't need to know your "skin type" or your biggest concern to start. You just need these two, and your morning is sealed.

Ready to go further? Take the Skin Plan and we'll help you build the rest.
