I’m writing this from my beach chair at Wingaersheek Beach—my happy place. This is a place where I can consistently tune into my soul. I feel connected here. Grounded. Quiet enough to listen.

I give myself a lot of opportunities to connect and ground through meditation, journaling, and yoga. But there is something about quiet moments in nature that nourishes my soul most deeply.

When I can quiet down, I can sense the space inside me and the space inside all things.

And I can really listen.

What has my body been trying to tell me?

What is it that I have been needing?

If your body has been telling you that it needs a little extra support, send me a message or book an MFR session through the link in my bio. If you want some support in between sessions, I've got lots of self-MFR videos that can be done at home in my Resource Hub!

How often do we feel like we have to earn our rest?

We can only stop after the laundry is done, the dishes are put away, the extra shift has been worked, the deck has been power-washed, the garden has been weeded.

Does this sound familiar?

Someone recently texted me, “Enjoy the beach. You deserve it.”

And I found myself thinking:

I don't believe we have to deserve it. I believe rest is our birthright.

We are here to enjoy our lives. We are here to love and be loved. And I believe we do those things best when we can come from a place of ease and peace.

Last month, Mike and I enjoyed a 10-day sail up the coast of Maine and back on our sailboat. Minutes after leaving our homeport in Beverly, Mike said, “I can’t remember the last time we haven’t been busy.”

It felt like we had been two ships passing in the night—busy with good things, but still going and going and going.

There is something so lovely about going to sleep and waking up to the rhythm of the sun, being lulled to sleep by the gentle rocking of the ocean, and letting the days unfold without a schedule.

My favorite day of the trip wasn't walking around one of the quintessential Maine towns, admiring the summer flowers in everyone's yards, enjoying lobster dinners, or stopping for ice cream.

It was the day we were stuck on the boat.

We were anchored for about 36 hours, most of it during some pretty foul weather. There were howling winds and enough rocking that I did the unthinkable—I took seasickness medication!

Once the queasiness passed, my day was filled with just being.

I read. I slept. I sat outside between squalls to get some fresh air. We had cozy macaroni and cheese with broccoli for lunch. I took several naps, including one at 10 in the morning. Mike and I talked and chatted and had deeper conversations. We exhaled.

There was nowhere to be.

Nothing to do.

I didn't clean or tidy the boat. Mike didn't try to troubleshoot why the oven had stopped working.

We simply rested.

And at the end of that day, we were gifted a beautiful double rainbow.

Summer travel can be surprisingly demanding on the body ☀️✈️

Long flights, road trips, carrying luggage, sleeping in unfamiliar beds, or trying activities you're not used to can all create tension and flare up old aches and pains.

A few simple habits can make a big difference:
✈️ Support your posture while traveling.
🚶 Get up and move often.
🧘 Stretch after long periods of sitting.
💆 Use your MFR self-treatment techniques to release tension before it builds.

If your summer plans include activities like kayaking, hiking, or anything your body isn't used to, give yourself a little extra care before and after. Your fascia will thank you!

If you're unsure how to prepare your body for an upcoming trip or manage discomfort while you're away, I'm always happy to answer your questions.

Vacation should leave you with great memories, not neck pain and a stiff back 🙌

Where are your summer adventures taking you this year? 🌎☀️

Four years ago, I opened Transform Myofascial Release with the goal of helping people reclaim their lives.

🔹 Who are you when pain no longer limits your life?

🔹 Who are you when the tightness in your stomach from years of anxious thoughts melts away and you finally exhale?

🔹 Who are you when your energy returns, your motivation comes back, and your inspiration reawakens?

Myofascial release is about more than releasing fascia and easing muscle tension. It's about what happens afterward. It's about helping people reconnect with themselves and reclaim the life that pain, stress, trauma, or restriction may have taken away.

That is why I'm here.

To my Transform Myofascial Release family: thank you for trusting me 💙

Thank you for allowing me to be part of your healing journey. I am here because of you 💙

✨ Cheers to Four Years of Transform MFR ✨

I had such a memorable experience last month at dinner with a good friend, Melanie Wilson-Lloyd .

In her previous life she was a creative at an advertising agency. We found ourselves talking about creativity and our desire to make more space for art in our lives. She asked me what keeps me from making art. Jokingly, I replied, "Laundry!" But beneath the joke was a truth: I don't often make time for creative endeavors in my day-to-day life. What I do tend to do is sign up for one off workshops forcing me to carve out the time to get in the creative flow.

Melanie, being the catalyst for change life coach that she is, suggested that we text each other daily with one creative thing we've done. Having an accountability partner has been surprisingly motivating, and it's helping me make creativity a regular part of my life. I look forward to her texts with pictures of what she’s created & it reminds me to sit down & connect with my creative side--even if it's just five minutes of doodling, painting, singing a song, or dancing around the house.

Just two days after our dinner, while walking through Magnolia passing time before an energy session, I happened upon Whale Rock Art Studio and it felt as though the universe had placed it directly in my path. I signed up for two workshops on the spot.

Last week, I attended their Abstract Painting for Beginners class, and I had so much fun. As I painted line after line, it suddenly dawned on me that I had created... fascia! The interconnected lines and flowing patterns reminded me so much of the fascial system we work with every day.

Here are a few photos of the process and the finished piece. It may never hang on a wall, but creating it brought me so much joy.

I'd love to hear: What creative practice brings you joy these days?

An annual tradition has been born!

One of the highlights last month was receiving a wonderful Myofascial Release session from a dear friend, Eliot Smalheiser of Greene Lotus Holistic Physical Therapy and Wellness . We decided to take our sessions outdoors at Lynch Park by the ocean, and it was an incredible experience.

As I received the work, I could feel releases happening while big gusts of wind swept through, birds chirped overhead, waves rolled onto the shore, and a cool ocean breeze surrounded us.

Afterward, we traded sessions, and I had the opportunity to work on him as well. I kicked off my shoes and felt the grass between my toes, gazed out at the sea and sky while I waited for the fascia to release.

It was a beautiful exchange and a reminder of the power of both healing touch, human connection, and grounding in nature.

Meet Snapper, our new kitten! He's been slowly getting to know his big brother Manchego, our Maine C**n (follow their adventures .the.big.cheese).

But here's the thing: while I was down on the floor supervising their meet-and-greet, I caught myself in all these twisted positions I tell my clients to avoid. Sitting directly on hard floors? That's a recipe for tight hips, low back pain, and fascial restrictions.

So I took my own advice and grabbed an ottoman. Your body will thank you for the support, whether you're introducing kittens or just hanging out at home. Try a stool, a hassock, anything that gets you off that hard surface.

Practice what you preach, right? 🐱
