Another thing!!

Just a reminder that I do get a TON of messages every day and usually I am working and busy focusing on the client in my chair, so it does take me anywhere from 1-3 days to respond to each message.

I do have a booking site where you can view all my availability. ALL appointments are booked through my website for your convenience, I don’t schedule through text, comments, DMs, etc! The link is in my bio!

Hey guys, three things!!

1. If you know you’re gonna need your hair done for the holidays, book your appointments ASAP!! Im already booked for November and filling up in December.

2. That being said, I am officially closing my books to new clients until further notice to allow room for my existing clients to be able to get in! I will most likely be opening them back up after Christmas.

3. Moving forward I will be limiting afternoon appointments so please plan accordingly!

I have so much more cool Halloween hair lined up this month!!

With the type of work I do I’m bound to get hate comments of course, but this has been on my mind lately. I feel like people often forget that hair is art too and art is FLUID!!

I’ll post something I did and someone will say “why didn’t you do it like this or that” or “it would look better if you did ___ instead” and I have to say I think to myself, I can literally just do that next time on another head lol. There are endless ways to interpret the same idea. That’s the fun part for me, I don’t look at every hairstyle as having one “best” version. I can take the same idea and do it ten completely different ways. Change the colors, placement, haircut, styling, whatever. There are so many possibilities and not one of them is the “correct” way.

Not everything has to be conventionally pretty, flattering, practical, or “wearable”. Sometimes I want to make something pretty, sometimes I want to think outside the box and make something weird, sometimes I just want to make something I haven’t seen before. Sometimes I even wanna make something straight up ugly 🤣 and that’s okay because at the end of the day it’s just hair and we can do something totally different next time.

This applies to every type of art. Painting, drawing, photography, tattoos, sculpting, makeup, hair, etc. there can be a million different versions of the same idea. A painting doesn’t always have to be the prettiest colors, a photograph doesn’t always have to be the most perfectly composed, music doesn’t always have to sound pleasant, fashion doesn’t have to always be flattering, etc.

Sometimes the point is just the idea, literally just what me or the client is feeling that day. One version of an artwork existing doesn’t cancel out all the other possibilities. I can literally just make THAT next time, but sometimes I just wanted to make THIS version today. There can be another version later!! Stop trying to fit art into a box!! Nothing good has ever come from that. Thank ya 🫶
