Hi my sweet and wonderful friends 🩵 A little update for yall!
I have been home for about 3 weeks since the surgery. My care team at Duke (and home 😉) have been absolutely amazing and I’m so happy to say that my results came back with CLEAR MARGINS!! What’s that mean for me? They were able to remove all the bone cancer from my leg. Woo!! Hopefully I’ll be back at the salon soon.
What I have is called Adamantinoma. Less than 1% of bone cancers get diagnosed as this. 🤪It’s a slow growing bone cancer that is usually found on the long bones and can jump into the lungs. Both a blessing and a curse, it does not respond to chemo so my only option will always be removal of bone. Which is okay by me! Thankfully when they took my tibia out they were able to get all of it!
Surgery wise, they removed the tibia, gave me some metal 🤘, broke my fibula, and removed some muscle. PT has been great but I still have the road to recovery ahead of me. Once I am back at work, my hours will be a little shorter so I can ease back into the routine.
I appreciate SO much all the love, gift cards, food, texts, and well wishes sent my way. I have such an incredible support group behind me and it has definitely helped make this process easier.

✨ A little life update from your hairstylist ✨
As some of you may know, I was recently diagnosed with bone cancer. Because apparently life decided I needed a little plot twist. 😅❤️
Because of treatment, any appointments scheduled after September 10th will need to be canceled or rescheduled temporarily. My books will only be open until then and I will have them open for October/November. I know this may be an inconvenience, and I truly appreciate everyone’s patience, understanding, and love while I take some time to focus on getting better.
The good news is that we’re hopefully looking at about 6–8 weeks, and then I plan to be back behind the chair, catching up on all my beautiful people and making your hair pretty again! ✂️❤️
I promise I will keep everyone updated as I know more. Thank you for all the love, prayers, messages, and support. It means more to me than you know. 🥹❤️
Until then, take care of yourselves, drink your water, and please don’t let anyone convince you that you “need just a little more off the ends.” 😂

Spray your texture spray up and into the hair for max volume and movement instead of spraying it down like you would a hair spray! Spraying down will just weigh it down.
