We’re a small, family homestead in Battle Creek Mi. We have a roadside farm stand, apothecary, nature club and mini bakery. We’re glad you found us!
Recently I decided to be a little more intentional about my social life.
Sometimes I’m a yes girl and end up committing to things I never really wanted to do. Other times I talk myself out of going somewhere and end up wishing I had gone. 🫣
Making friends as a busy adult, mom of three, business owner, and all the other things is WEIRD. But I’ve been making more of an effort to put myself out there and make meaningful connections. Since shifting that mindset, we’ve found ourselves surrounded by some really incredible, inspiring, hardworking people.
This event was a perfect example. I didn’t know a single person going and I almost bailed because I was nervous. Shout out Ryan Morris for being the ultimate hype man. ❤️
But seriously, if you asked me to describe my ideal date, it would probably involve getting all dressed up, having a candlelit dinner in a glass greenhouse, and being surrounded by successful women who are excited about what they’re building.
I am so glad I went. I met amazing women, laughed with new friends, and left feeling genuinely inspired. I even noticed myself talking about our own business with more confidence and certainty. That alone was worth going for.
So here’s your little push to put yourself out there. Be intentional about where you spend your time and who you surround yourself with. You might just meet some of the best people in the neatest places.

Billy is settling in nicely! 🐐
Although I’m not sure he knows he can walk since he’s being carried around everywhere. 😂
Hattie heard Billy’s story and immediately fell in love. His mama passed away shortly after he was born, so he and his sisters have been living indoors and being bottle fed house goats.
Hattie wanted the full experience of raising a bottle baby. We told her if she could save up enough money, we’d consider it.
Well, last weekend she set up her “Take a Photo with a Goat” booth at Rust & Moondust with our other goats. She sold Polaroids for donations and earned enough to buy Billy herself!!
And being the good little goat mama she is, she was more than happy to wake up before the sun this morning to give him his bottle.
I love watching our kids come up with ideas, work toward something they want and then get to enjoy the rewards of their hard work.
We’re all pretty smitten with Billy and loving this new adventure on our little farm. And don’t worry, Press and Toast are happy with him. I promise they’re ALL getting smothered with attention.

Did you know that it takes the same amount of time to get home from here as it does to finish one of these mangonadas?! Well, I did.
After a long day of work, I may have selfishly offered to pick up dinner knowing I wouldn’t have to share my treat. 🙊
Taqueria San Francisco never misses!!
So far they’re our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area? Any others we must try?
Since moving back from CA, I’m always on the search for good authentic Mexican food!
