The gift of the giver is the joy that a person receives from giving to another person. Yesterday Nicole Wilkinson🪻 and I had the pleasure of sharing how to take care of your wig and yourself while going thru Cancer treatment. Cancer services of Baton Rouge and Mary Bird Perkins hosted the event. Nicole and I received such joy from sharing our knowledge with the ladies. Thank you for that joy. iuveni donated Lipid Layer Quencher to all the participants to use on their hair or a human hair wig. The ladies were amazed at how the wigs felt once the LLQ repaired the hair. We look forward to having another event in the future.

Perming wigs, extensions and hair toppers use to be extremely difficult. The results varied greatly from wow it worked to oh no, I have to start all over again. We also could not perm and color in the same day any wig, extensions or hair toppers. Thanks iuveni we now can offer this service without fear. Make sure you understand the quality of hair that you are working with before trying this. The full video is on my YT channel. https://youtu.be/vvrnrxWidBw?is=cHg4a1CgOiOZIpjG

How cool is this?????? I had the smaller one and just received the larger one. I cannot imagine the hand strength needed to cut hair with these.

I have a wonderful client who leaves me little surprises every time she visits. I typically find them the next morning when I am straightening up the salon from the day before. The joy this brings me is indescribable!

If you know me I really don't like to talk politics on SM. Today I went to speak against SB54. It changes the definition of Esthetics allowing the Esthetician to blow-dry hair. What does that matter you ask? Estheticians are not trained in blow-dry styling, they recieve no education specific to scalp disorders. when to recommend a client to a medical professional. Sanitation and cleaning of tools. How to choose a proper shampoo and conditoner. How to massage the scalp, How to rinse the products out. How to choose the correct styling products. How to use brushes, blow-dryers, hot tools etc. Esstheticians are trained on the skin, from the face down. It is against Cosmetology laws for them to touch the scalp, diagnose scalp disorders, perform any hair service a Cosmetologist can.
The blatant abuse of power from Senator Cathey is appalling.
Watch this short video as he introduces his bill. He told his wife "wait till June, I will get a law passed". No Senator should have this power to just pass a bill because his wife will not use a gift certifcate. He never responded to my emails, did not consult the cosmetology board or any licensed professionals. All of these senators should be ashamed of themselves. The bill will go to House Commerce for one last vote. Please take the time to email, call and voice your opinion on this blatant abuse of power. I will post the whole video of the discussion of SB54 when I get it downloaded.
