Apparently, “you have a cavity” can be delivered with more emotion than I ever realized. 😂

Disappointed? Easy.

Sarcastic? Questionable.

Flirty? Absolutely not. Dr. Liz and I had to draw the line somewhere.

Dentistry keeps me serious when it matters, but behind the scenes, my team makes sure we still have plenty of moments like this.

And for the record, no matter how I say it, I would much rather catch a cavity early than let it become a bigger problem.

Sugar does not always look like candy.

One thing I remind my patients is that foods we think of as everyday choices, like flavored yogurt, cereal, granola bars, and fruit juice, can still expose our teeth to sugar throughout the day.

And it is not only about how much sugar you have. **How often your teeth are exposed matters too.** Each exposure gives cavity causing bacteria another opportunity to produce acids that can weaken enamel.

I am not telling you to eliminate everything you enjoy. I would rather help you build smarter habits around it.

Choose water when you can, be mindful of frequent snacking, and stay consistent with brushing and flossing.

Your teeth notice the little habits more than you think.

One thing I’ve learned in dentistry: sometimes the second person who asks gets the director’s cut. 😂

Patients may say they’re totally fine at first, then remember the sensitivity, the lower right tooth, the weird bite, and the thing that only hurts “sometimes” once I walk in.

That’s actually why our team asks questions more than once. Small details matter, and sometimes it takes a little extra conversation for everything to come out.

My assistants just wish the full report arrived during round one. 😅

Sometimes a patient tells me, “I hate the dentist.”

And I get it. Dental anxiety is real, and for some people, even walking through the door takes a lot.

That’s why I’m so grateful for the team around me, especially our assistants. Before I even begin treatment, they’re already helping patients feel more comfortable, more understood, and a little less nervous.

Sometimes the first step toward a better dental experience is simply having the right person beside you.

And Tanya is very good at easing nerves. 😂

If you’ve been putting off a visit because of dental anxiety, I’d love the chance to help make your experience feel different this time.

After years of studying smiles, I still find teeth fascinating. ✨

Enamel is incredibly strong. Staying hydrated supports the saliva that helps protect your teeth. Your smile also has natural defenses working every day.

But even the strongest teeth still need consistent care.

I always remind my patients that prevention is not about perfection. It is about simple daily habits, regular checkups, and catching small changes before they become bigger concerns.

Which fact surprised you the most?

I take patient care very seriously.

Pronouncing everyone’s name correctly, however, may occasionally require a little extra teamwork. 😂

One wrong syllable later, and suddenly I’m giving full substitute teacher energy.

Balake and Jayquellin, please report to the treatment room.

I promise the care is personalized, even when the name announcement needs a second attempt.

One of the things I value most about having Dr. Liz at Glint is the depth of experience and compassion she brings to every patient.

After 30 years in dentistry, she has seen technology transform the way we diagnose, plan, and deliver care. But what I admire most is that her focus has never shifted from the person in the chair.

She understands that dental anxiety is real, and she finds so much meaning in helping patients move forward one small step at a time. Watching someone build trust, feel more comfortable, and eventually receive care without fear is the kind of transformation that goes far beyond their smile.

I am so grateful to have Dr. Liz as part of our Glint family and to share a philosophy of care centered on comfort, connection, and whole body wellness.

Summer has a way of putting every smile in the spotlight. ✨

Coffee, tea, berries, red wine, and everyday changes can gradually affect the brightness of your teeth. When my patients ask whether whitening is right for them, I always begin with health, not shade.

Healthy teeth and gums come first. From there, I look at the type of staining, your sensitivity, your timeline, and the result you want to achieve.

Options used at home can be convenient, while professional whitening allows me to create a more controlled and personalized experience.

The goal is not an artificial white. It is a refreshed, luminous smile that still feels completely like you.

Every office has a go to person.

At Glint, ours just happens to be Diana. Receptionist, supplies manager, treatment coordinator, social media driver, and apparently everything in between. 😂

I point. Diana handles it.

At this point, we may need to update her official title to Glint’s Director of Everything.

Crowns, veneers, onlays, overlays… the terminology can feel overwhelming.

But the decision is not based on choosing the most popular option. The tooth tells us what it needs.

I look at how much healthy enamel remains, the condition of the tooth, and the way your bite functions. A healthy tooth may only need a conservative veneer, while a tooth affected by grinding, erosion, or enamel loss may need more complete protection.

That does not automatically mean removing a large amount of tooth structure. It means designing the porcelain restoration to protect what remains and support the tooth long term.

Different names. Similar materials. A design chosen specifically for your smile.

Schedule a consultation, and I’ll help you understand which option makes the most sense for you.
