Did you use box dye before sitting in my chair? Here’s what I’d tell you:

1. I’m not mad at you! God knows I was using and abusing box dye before I got my cosmetology license, it’s not something I’d ever judge you for. If our goal is for you to love your hair and leave the appointment feeling great, shaming you for using box dye does not contribute. No matter your hair history, you’re welcome in my chair

2. What is your end goal, and what is your budget? Not everyone wants to go from black to platinum, and definitely not everyone wants to have a $1200 hair transformation. I want to work with you, to make sure you leave with the results you want, and to make sure we keep your hair healthy

3. How often do you want to be in my chair? Are we looking for a total transformation, or to slowly transition into a new color? When we’re working on hair previously dyed with box dye, it can be hard to figure out an end goal and when to come in. I’ll work with you to determine what’s best for you and your hair
