That stubborn tension around your shoulder blade? It may be time to give it some attention.

The muscles surrounding the shoulder blade play an important role in shoulder movement, stability, and everyday function. When tension builds in this area, it can contribute to discomfort that makes even routine movements feel less comfortable.

Acupuncture offers a targeted approach to care, with needle placement tailored to the individual and the areas being addressed.

Acupuncture is about more than muscles. ๐ŸŒฟ

Many people associate acupuncture with physical pain, but this traditional practice is also explored for a variety of concerns, including stress, sleep difficulties, menstrual discomfort, fertility support, and symptoms associated with menopause.

Whether youโ€™re navigating physical tension, hormonal changes, or simply looking for a more thoughtful approach to your health, acupuncture may be worth exploring with a qualified practitioner.

Step into an acupuncture session with April Michele

Hi, I am April Michele, I will take care of you. Your job is to relax ๐Ÿ˜ŒThe treatment consits of discussing your concerns so that I may gain more clarity about what is going on and why you are having this experience. I check your pulse, abdomen and tongue. I palpate your body. I perform, hifushin, a Japanese Acupuncture technique, translated as touching needle. Then check for changes in your pulse and abdomen.

Alcohol is used to clean the areas I will treat. Then the needling begins (Chinese or Japanese Acu style) with the points I believe are needed (a treatment can consist of one point though!). I may needle on the front side of your body only, or both front and back. Depending on time, you may receive other modalities like moxibustion (or moxa). I typically end doing some manual therapy on the back. You are all set. Thank you!

Lower-back tension deserves more than a surface-level approach.

The lumbar muscles and quadratus lumborum (QL) play important roles in supporting the spine, stabilizing the pelvis, and helping the body move through everyday activities.

When these muscles become tense or sensitive, they may contribute to lower-back discomfort and limitations in movement.

Through focused, hands-on bodywork, treatment can address areas of muscular tension with thoughtful pressure and attention to the individualโ€™s needs.

When stress settles into the body, the shoulders are often one of the first places to feel it.

The upper trapezius muscles can carry a surprising amount of tension โ€” especially with prolonged stress, repetitive posture, or long hours spent at a desk.

Electro dry needling combines targeted dry needling with gentle electrical stimulation, allowing practitioners to focus on areas of muscular tension as part of an individualized treatment approach.

Itโ€™s not about treating every body the same. Itโ€™s about understanding where tension is held, what your body is communicating, and choosing an approach that is appropriate for you.

The lumbar region of the lower back plays an important role in spinal support, stability, and movement. When the surrounding muscles become tense or irritated, it can contribute to discomfort and make everyday movements feel more difficult.

In this treatment, dry needling is applied to specific areas of the lumbar musculature, targeting points of muscular tension as part of an individualized approach to care.

Tension doesnโ€™t always stay where you feel it.

At the base of the skull are the suboccipital muscles โ€” a small group of muscles that play an important role in supporting movement and positioning of the head and neck.

In this treatment, gentle, targeted hands-on work is applied to the suboccipital and upper-neck area, where tension can accumulate from prolonged postures, repetitive movement, and everyday strain.

What if the way we respond to stress could begin with something as simple as a tap?

In this video, Rolene, Counselor & EFT Practitioner at Art Of Healing, introduces Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) โ€” a mind-body practice that combines focused attention with gentle tapping on specific points of the body.

EFT can be used as a way to bring greater awareness to emotions, stress, and the physical sensations that can accompany them. Rather than pushing difficult feelings away, the practice invites you to acknowledge what youโ€™re experiencing while creating space for a different response.

In this demonstration, Rolene shows one of the tapping points beneath the collarbone and explains how it can be incorporated into an EFT sequence.

Cupping is a traditional wellness practice that uses gentle suction to create focused stimulation across the body. For many, it becomes part of a broader self-care ritual โ€” a chance to slow down, reconnect, and give the body a little extra attention.
