Skin: barely there. Eyes: not playing it safe. ✨

Sometimes “No Makeup” makeup just needs one unexpected element to cut through the makeup OVERLOAD flooding your feed.

Cast your vote for the “barely there” skin or the “unexpected element”

Nobody tells you the best hour of the shoot is the one before anyone’s watching — just you, a face, and an idea you’re not sure will work yet.

The best part isn’t the reveal. It’s the twenty minutes before it, when it’s just skin and light and an idea you’re chasing.

I was recently featured in VoyageATL and got the chance to share the full arc of my journey — from watching my mother put on her lipstick as a little girl, to working on Super Bowl commercials, Emmy award-winning TV shows, and feature films with my name in the credits.

The article covers how I got started, the leap from corporate security to freelance, the challenges nobody warns you about, and the philosophy behind my work that has always set me apart.

It’s a story I don’t tell all at once very often. I’m glad I finally did.

“No Makeup” makeup is the quietest flex in the kit.

No color story, no drama, no moment anyone can point to — just skin that looks like skin, only better.

That’s the whole job.

It doesn’t photograph like editorial. It doesn’t perform on a grid. But it keeps showing up in my text messages that say: “Can you do my wedding?” and “Can you do my daughter’s shoot?” and “What did you do to her skin?”

Correct and respect. The rest takes care of itself.

There’s an irony that sits with me every time I see a skincare brand’s campaign.

They’re selling you better skin. But the model is wearing a full face of foundation.

Real skin — with its texture, its freckles, its life — has been smoothed away. And the product they’re trying to sell you is buried underneath it.

This is what a skincare campaign should actually look like.

My approach has always been simple: correct what needs correcting, respect everything else. Skin is the main event. Makeup is the background — present, but almost never seen.

Some brands have started to understand this. Most still haven’t.

I’ve built my entire practice around it.

The one question I am asked the most is: “What’s your favorite style of makeup to do on someone?”

This small compilation of some of my work provides the answer.

Because the truth of the matter is I don’t have a favorite because I love every different style of makeup. Every canvas that sits in my chair is my new favorite.
