Amanda Nguyen, founder of Next Runway Star and the RISE Fashion Show, supports survivors and advocates by reclaiming the runway as a place of empowerment, visibility, and celebration.
I am Tijuana “TJ” Vann—entrepreneur and founder of A.R.I.S.E. Youth Mentoring, Corp., The Essence of S.A.W., and other community-focused initiatives.
As a young girl, I was raised by my grandmother without either of my biological parents. Although I was surrounded by love, I struggled with feelings of abandonment, low self-worth, and a lack of confidence that followed me into adulthood. Those challenges contributed to unhealthy relationships, self-sabotage, and years of questioning my value.
But my challenges did not determine my future—they helped shape my purpose.
I am competing to create a greater platform for young people ages 10–25. Through A.R.I.S.E. Youth Mentoring, I want to empower boys and girls to become confident leaders, entrepreneurs, and living witnesses that dreams really do come true.
