Last week, I shared one of the rewards of entrepreneurship—my new Porsche 911. This week reminded me of the side nobody posts about. We had website issues, shipping problems, a returned international wire, unexpected building repairs, massive inventory costs, and a potential manufacturing crisis that could have left Pete & Pedro without one of our key products. That’s the reality of owning a business: success can look glamorous from the outside, but behind the scenes, you’re constantly managing risk, cash flow, vendors, inventory, and problems you never saw coming.

The biggest lesson for me is that entrepreneurship is really about problem-solving under pressure. When our Clay manufacturer couldn’t initially replicate the product we had approved, we had to move fast, test multiple production variations, coordinate the entire team, and find a solution before we lost sales and Amazon momentum. We got it done, but it reinforced something I’ve believed for years: there’s a lot of pain before the Porsche. The rewards are great, but they come after years of taking risks, solving problems, building the right team, and refusing to quit when everything seems to go wrong at once.

Looking classy isn’t about spending a ton of money, wearing designer clothes, or jumping on every trend. It’s about fit, simplicity, quality, and timeless style. Classy style is more about subtraction than addition.

There’s a big difference between living a successful life and living a life well led. Success is usually measured by things other people can see: money, titles, accomplishments, followers, awards, houses, and recognition. But a life well led is measured differently. It’s about whether you used what you were given. Whether you loved people well. Whether you took chances, stayed curious, created something meaningful, helped somebody along the way, and actually enjoyed being alive.

Most of us will never be famous, and we don't need to be. At the end of this thing, a life well led isn't about how many people knew your name. I’ve had my Porsche 911 for about a week, and I’m not going to lie—I freaking love this thing. It’s been my dream car since I was about eight years old, and every time I get behind the wheel, I smile. I built it exactly the way I wanted it, and all-in, it came to around $198,000. And yes, I paid cash.

Could I have invested that money and made more with it? Absolutely. But I’ve spent decades working, building businesses, investing, eliminating debt, and making responsible financial decisions.
