Every single rebooking in my spa happened in the first 15 minutes of intake, before the client ever laid down on the treatment bed.

By the time someone is standing at the front desk with their coat on and car keys in hand, their brain is already in traffic.

Trying to explain a 30-day skin plan while the card reader is beeping is uncomfortable for everyone in the room.

So, I moved the entire sales conversation for the end of he service.

The entire sales process the client remained in complete control, no persuasive tactics and fake FOMO ever.

The actual facial became the delivery of a plan we had already came into agreement with. So, the treatment table is theirs that time to decompress, relax into and out of their head. This is not where they are learning this is where they deal with what actually haves them on your table.

When we walked back up to the register, there was no pitch, no hesitation, and no "let me check my calendar when I get home."

Just a quick receipt printout and their next appointment card already tucked into the bag. And a friendly departure with them ready to meet the demands of the day.

Want to learn what I did check for my next workshop, it's pretty cool and I always have food served and my events, come through it will be fun.

Is it just me?

Or does anyone else feel this:

You're a couple hours into a genuinely good workshop. The person teaching clearly knows what they're talking about, and you're taking real notes.

Then the testimonials start rolling out. The proof points. The speaker's background, their team, how many people they've helped. For a minute, you're sold. This feels like the place. This feels like the answer.

Then comes the line, tucked in near the end, almost too smooth to notice:

"Of course, results vary."

And there it is.

That one line quietly walks back everything that came before it. Because results varying isn't a small detail, it's an admission.

Maybe the clients who had amazing results were not as beginner as you. Maybe they had resources, a team, and a head start you don't have. We are all running different businesses from different starting points. A testimonial can tell you it worked for someone else under their specific conditions, but it cannot tell you it will work for you. That is what that statement actually means.

When a pitch needs a disclaimer to protect itself from the promise it spent an hour building, that tells you something.

Here is what it told me: If the framework needs a disclaimer, who do I have to be or become to make this work for me?

I've spent over $45,000 moving my business from brick-and-mortar into an online model over the last 5 years. It was never the learning that stopped me. It was the moment of ex*****on, that pressure moment where you either move or freeze. And honestly there is no course for that. I simply had to do the thing, and I had to do it afraid. That was the real lesson.

Having the money to buy a course was never the same thing as being ready to execute it.

These days, if a program is padded with dozens of bonuses, I don't see generosity. I see a slick way of saying: you're probably not ready, but here's a pile of stuff to distract you.

A good framework doesn't need a disclaimer. That's the difference between a tactic and a strategy:
- A tactic needs perfect conditions to work.
- A strategy works because it's true, regardless of where you're starting from.

None of those programs could eliminate the work of shedding and old identity of myself and doing it afraid. I But when you have a real foundation instead of a borrowed tactic, at least you know what you're stepping onto.

What was the first big move in your business you had to make while you were still terrified?

In growing regional markets across the Southeast and Southwest like Raleigh, North Carolina, Birmingham, Alabama, and Austin, Texas, consumer demand for skin treatments is out growing local spa provider supply according to some market research. People are relocating, personal care spending is increasing, and clients are actively searching for solo operators who understand Esthetics for skin care outcomes.

Yet thousands of licensed estheticians across these same metro areas are sitting on the sidelines with active credentials tucked away.

They paid the tuition, completed the hours, and passed the state board. With their license I wonder if the economy, or the lack of structure they felt completely unprepared for the business side, so they opted to take a standard hourly job instead.

The license sits idle because school taught standard state board basic protocols, leaving the business operation process blank.

When you don't know how to calculate your cost per treatment, how to conduct an intake that builds trust, or how to retain a client past their first visit, holding that license feels risky, and employment feels like a safe place to start.

In these regional cities, client demand consistently outpaces the number of working rooms, leaving revenue on the table for practitioners who understand backend structure.

That market window will not stay open indefinitely. Commercial suites get claimed, regional competition matures, and client habits set in.

Capturing that local demand does not require an oversized buildout. It begins with a single quiet room, a defined treatment menu, and simple framework and clear path towards profit can revive an idle esthetics license putting it back to work.

Your license is an earning vehicle, not just a credential to frame. If you have been waiting for the right time to pull it out of the drawer, the market demand is already there. You just need the operational strategy to match it. We can help.

I still keep my original Certificate front and center in my office, and behind the framed is a receipt for my first product line purchase that gave me a stomachache at the time. Every practitioner starts with that same knot in their stomach.

The shift happens when I decide to build not just a brand, but the professional identity needed to build the business behind the license.

Someone books a 90-minute massage on their phone at 2:15 AM because they had a stressful Tuesday night.

By 8:00 AM they have a cup of coffee and a toasted bagel with cream cheese. Their stress level drops, and they completely forget they ever went on your site to book an emergency massage.

Then they cancel at noon.

The owner gets mad, blames the client for being flaky, and decides the immediate fix is charging a $50 non-refundable booking deposit on every service.

After 24 years in the spa industry, I look at deposits very differently.

A booking deposit is almost always a band-aid slapped over an uncontrolled calendar.

When you give total strangers indiscriminate, 24/7 access to your appointment book, you hand them that exact same power to cancel on a whim. That is a backend problem on the business side, not bad behavior from the public.

Online booking in most solo spas has turned into the wild west. An owner sets up their software, flips every open slot live to the internet, and uses credit card holds as their only defense against the chaos.

Access to your schedule should be a privilege you manage intentionally.

A brand-new walk-in looking for a one-off service should never see the exact same open book as the client who has been on your table every month for over a year.

When you build a calendar that separates regular clients from one-off experience bookings, you stop needing a financial penalty to keep your day from falling apart.

If your day falls apart every time someone cancels, you don't need a tighter deposit policy. You need a schedule strategy.

Save this for your next calendar audit, and drop a comment below if your booking links are currently wide open.

I have been following her and I am finally starting my back yard garden with potatoes and yams and a bunch of herbs I will keep y'all posted!

Beautiful skin starts from the inside out! Cause eating a yam is far better for your skin than rubbing it on your skin!

**Spa owners, I need your honest answer to this... 👇**

When a client books a massage at midnight (stressed, overwhelmed, desperately needing relief)...

And then no-shows the next day because they woke up feeling better...

**Whose fault is it?**

❌ The client's for being irresponsible?
✅ Yours for giving them access when you did?
🤷‍♀️ Nobody's fault - it's just part of the business?

Drop your answer in the comments. I promise this isn't a trick question - but your answer might surprise you.

(And it might just be the key to solving your no-show problem for good.)

---

P.S. If you're tired of losing revenue to empty appointment slots, I'm hosting a FREE Webinar on December November 24th, 2025 where I'll share the exact mindset shift, I used to turn no-shows into loyal, paying clients - without credit card holds or penalty fees.

**Comment "BOOKING" below and I'll send you the link to save your spot!** 💜
