🚨 Allergic Reactions – What to Know 🚨
🖤 Tint & Hair Dye:
Contain PPD, a strong allergen that can cause immediate or delayed reactions, even with prior use.
🍃 Henna:
Often contains low levels of PPD or other reactive dyes.
⚠️ If you’re allergic to PPD, switching to henna isn’t safer unless it’s labeled PPD-FREE.
🌀 Brow Lamination:
Uses ammonium thioglycolate and hydrogen peroxide, which can irritate or inflame sensitive or broken skin.
🔍 Reaction Symptoms:
• Redness, swelling, itching
• Burning or bumps
• Green/yellow crusting
• Peeling or blistering in serious cases
🧪 Patch tests are available but not mandatory.
If unsure, it’s best to patch test 72 hrs before your service.
🆘 If you react:
1. Wash gently with mild soap + water (2–3x/day)
2. Dry completely
3. Apply hydrocortisone cream, Benedryl could also help
4. Avoid other products on the area
📆 Most mild cases clear in 3–5 days
❗️ Seek medical help if:
• Breathing changes
• Dizziness or fever
• Spreading swelling
• No improvement after 3–5 days
