We get it—seeing a little stubble before your next appointment is tempting! But picking up that razor in between wax sessions is doing your skin (and your wax results) a huge disservice. Here is the truth behind what happens under the surface:
1️⃣ It ruins your hair growth cycle 🔄
Your hair grows in three different phases. Waxing gets your hair on the same cycle so it all grows back softer, thinner, and at the same time. Shaving resets that cycle to zero, causing hairs to sprout at mismatched lengths.
2️⃣ Short stubble = Less grip 🤏
Wax needs about 1/4 inch of hair (the size of a grain of rice) to properly grab and pull from the root. Shaved stubble is too short and blunt for the wax to grip, leaving stubble behind no matter how skilled your esthetician is!
3️⃣ Over-exfoliating is NOT the solution ⚠️
We love smooth skin, but scrubbing too aggressively before your appointment strips your skin barrier. Waxing over raw, over-exfoliated skin increases the risk of skin lifting.
