🕊️ No one prepares you for this kind of heartbreak.
Our sweet Rey passed away this morning, and our hearts are completely shattered. I wish more than anything I could hold her one more time, feel her next to me, love on her like I always did.
She was my shadow—always by my side, always knowing when I needed comfort. Her love was unconditional, pure, and constant. I am so deeply honored that she was mine.
Just last week we found out why she had stopped eating and was losing so much weight… a massive tumor on her liver had blocked her stomach. Everything happened so fast, and we were faced with the decision no one ever wants to make. Letting her go was the most painful choice, but her little body was hurting so much. I know she was nauseous, uncomfortable, and not herself anymore.
I tried to save her. I would’ve done anything. And even though I couldn’t, I hope she knows how fiercely she was loved.
To all of my friends and family—thank you for loving Rey with me. She loved you, too. 💔🐾
