Postoperative lymphatic drainage massage can play an important role in the early healing process. With your surgeon’s approval, treatment often begins within a few days to a few weeks after surgery, depending on the procedure. During the first several weeks, many people benefit from 2–3 sessions per week, with frequency gradually decreasing as swelling improves.
Lymphatic massage uses gentle, specialized techniques to encourage healthy lymph flow. This may help reduce swelling, minimize fluid buildup, improve comfort, and support your body’s natural healing process.
But recovery doesn’t stop once the swelling is gone.
As your tissues heal, scar tissue and fascial restrictions begin to form. These changes can limit movement and create tension that isn’t always felt directly at the surgical site. Months—or even years—later, they may contribute to pain, stiffness, pulling sensations, reduced mobility, poor posture, neck or back pain, or compensatory movement patterns that seem unrelated to the original surgery.
That’s where therapeutic massage comes in.
Once your incision has fully healed and your healthcare provider has cleared you for treatment, techniques such as scar mobilization and fascial release can help improve tissue mobility, decrease discomfort, restore movement, and address restrictions before they become long-term problems.
Every surgery and every recovery is different. That’s why we tailor treatment to your stage of healing and your individual goals.

When most people think about their calves, they think about running, jumping, or walking—but these muscles are working almost every moment you’re on your feet.
The calf complex is made up of three primary muscles:
✔️ Gastrocnemius – the large, visible calf muscle that helps propel you forward when walking, running, and jumping.
✔️ Soleus – located beneath the gastrocnemius, this powerful endurance muscle plays a major role in standing, walking, and postural control.
✔️ Plantaris – a small muscle that assists with movement and is absent in some people altogether.
Together, these muscles help point the foot downward, stabilize the ankle, absorb forces during movement, and contribute to balance and mobility.
Because they work so hard throughout the day, calf muscles can become tight, overworked, and prone to strains, cramping, and trigger points. Tight calves may even contribute to ankle stiffness, altered walking mechanics, foot discomfort, and reduced mobility.
Whether you’re an athlete, a runner, or someone who spends long hours on your feet, healthy calf muscles are essential for efficient movement.

If muscle tension is limiting your mobility or recovery, therapeutic massage can help improve tissue quality, flexibility, and overall movement.

Most people only think about their hamstrings when they feel tight—but these muscles do much more than that.
The hamstrings are actually a group of three muscles located on the back of the thigh:
✔️ Biceps Femoris
✔️ Semitendinosus
✔️ Semimembranosus
Together, they help bend the knee, extend the hip, support posture, and power movements like walking, running, jumping, squatting, and climbing stairs.
Because they cross both the hip and knee joints, hamstrings are especially vulnerable to tightness, strains, and overuse. Prolonged sitting, intense exercise, muscle imbalances, and poor movement patterns can all contribute to hamstring dysfunction.
When the hamstrings aren’t functioning well, you may experience:
🔹 Tightness behind the legs
🔹 Reduced flexibility
🔹 Knee discomfort
🔹 Hip or low back pain
🔹 Decreased athletic performance
Keeping these muscles healthy is important for everyday movement and long-term mobility.
Do your hamstrings always feel tight, no matter how much you stretch? Let us know in the comments!
If muscle tension, stiffness, or recurring discomfort is holding you back, therapeutic massage can help improve tissue quality, mobility, and recovery.
