Think you might have PMOS? Here’s what to do next. 🩸

First, having some of the symptoms listed doesn’t automatically mean you have PMOS. There’s no single test that can tell you whether you have it.

So what should you do?

📝 Track what’s happening.
Keep notes about your periods, symptoms and changes you’ve noticed. This can give your healthcare provider a much clearer picture.

🩺 Find a practitioner who listens to you.
You deserve someone who takes your symptoms seriously, answers your questions and works with you to find solutions that make sense for your body, your health and your goals.

🧪 Ask about a full evaluation.
Your provider may look at your menstrual cycle, signs of higher hormone levels, bloodwork and, when needed, an ultrasound or AMH blood test. They may also test for other conditions that can cause similar symptoms.

And an important reminder: You do NOT need to have ovarian cysts to have PMOS.

❤️ Look beyond your period.
PMOS can affect reproductive, hormonal, metabolic and emotional health. Your care should look at the whole you—not just whether your periods are regular.

🌙 And you don’t have to learn about all of this alone. At Ms. Moxie’s, we can help you find trusted educational resources, learn more about your cycle and better understand the questions you may want to bring to your healthcare provider. We’re not a replacement for medical care—we’re a place to learn, ask questions and feel more prepared to advocate for yourself.

Track it. Ask about it. Find someone who listens. And get the support that’s right for you.

Save this for your next appointment or share it with someone who might need it.

Apparently a period shop can also make a pretty great thrift shop. 👀♻️

Stephanie Hernandez and Ms. Moxie’s Moon Shop | Menstrual Health Boutique have teamed up to transform Ms. Moxie’s into a pop-up thrift shop filled with vintage gems, designer finds, quirky pieces, shoes, and accessories.

🥂 And we’re closing our month long pop-up with a Sip, Style & Shop!

Join us September 30 from 6:30–9 PM for an evening of sipping, thrifting and finding something that makes you feel GOOD. Come browse the racks, try on something unexpected and let secondhand stylist, Thrift the District, help you find your next favorite piece.

Because life’s transitions are hard. Finding clothes that work for where you are right now shouldn’t be. ❤️

And because we’re made with Moxie, there’s a little extra good built in: a portion of the proceeds helps us get period products into the hands of people who need them.

♻️ Thrift something fabulous.
🥂 Sip with us.
❤️ Help us provide period products to someone that needs them.

Know someone with Moxie?

We’re growing our team at Ms. Moxie’s Moon Shop, and we’re looking for a few polka-dot unicorns—people who believe in our mission, love learning, take initiative, and want to use their talents to help us make menstrual health easier to understand and talk about.

We’re currently hiring for:
• Marketing & Events Coordinator
• Retail Associates

You do not have to be a menstrual health expert—we can teach you that. We’re looking for curious, compassionate people who bring great skills and genuinely care about what we’re building.

And we need your help finding them! Tag someone who would be amazing at Ms. Moxie’s, send them this post, or share it with your network.

Full job postings and submission instructions are here: https://msmoxiesmoonshop.com/Jobpostings

Don’t see the perfect role but think you belong at Ms. Moxie’s anyway? We want to hear from you, too. Send us a message at [email protected] and tell us about yourself!

🙋🏼‍♂️🙋🏾‍♂️Dads. Partners. Brothers. Friends. Coworkers. Coaches. You’re invited! 🙋🏻‍♂️

And to all our menstruators: personally invite a man in your life. Send him this post and tell him you’d love for him to come. Sometimes the best way to bring people into the conversation is simply to let them know they’re welcome. ❤️

This is one of those workshops we wish everyone knew existed after breast cancer treatment. 💗

Shoulder pain, tightness, stiffness, and limited mobility can be common after surgery, radiation, reconstruction, lymph node removal, and other breast cancer treatments—but that doesn’t mean you simply have to live with them.

Join us at Ms. Moxie’s Moon Shop for an interactive 90-minute workshop with Sara Acheson PT, DPT, CLT-UE, CES, PCES, founder of Athena Wellness and a board-certified orthopedic physical therapist.

We’ll talk about why your body may feel different after treatment and, more importantly, what you can do about it. You’ll learn about breathing, posture, scar tissue, rib and shoulder-blade mobility, strength, and common concerns including cording, frozen shoulder, radiation fibrosis, lymphedema-related issues, and persistent pain.

And this isn’t just a lecture. You’ll practice gentle, evidence-based movements you can use right away and leave with a simple 10-minute at-home mobility routine to help you keep moving forward.

🎀 Shoulder Pain & Stiffness After Breast Cancer Treatment

In 1978, Gloria Steinem asked a deceptively simple question: What if men could menstruate?

In her now-famous satirical essay, she imagined how differently the world might treat periods if they were experienced by those who held greater social power.

Period products would be free. Menstrual pain would be taken seriously. Research would be funded. And bleeding wouldn’t be something people were expected to hide or quietly manage on their own.

Nearly 50 years later, her words still feel remarkably relevant.

We are still fighting period poverty. We are still working to break the stigma and shame surrounding menstruation. We are still asking for better research, better healthcare and more equitable access to the products people need. And right here in Alexandria, menstrual products are still subject to a local tax.

Steinem helped make menstruation something we could talk about publicly—and helped us understand that the way society treats our bodies is connected to who has power.

She also rejected the idea that there is only one torch to pass from one generation to the next. Everybody gets a torch.

This week, we honor Gloria Steinem and the enormous impact of a woman who spent her life questioning systems, saying the quiet parts out loud and making space for those who came next.

And here at Ms. Moxie’s, our torch is lit.
And we’ll keep lighting more torches along the way. 🔥
