Microneedling creates tiny controlled punctures in the skin, and is why it’s important to have it performed professionally.
At-home microneedling devices don’t offer the same level of control, precision, or safety. If the needles aren’t sterilize or the skin isn’t prepared correctly, bacteria can enter through those tiny punctures and increase the risk of infection.
Using the wrong depth or too much pressure can also cause unnecessary trauma, potentially leading to prolonged irritation, pigmentation changes, or even scarring.
