Hey beauty babes ⚡️

I will probably ruffle some feathers and some people might roll their eyes at this but I need to make an important post because a handful of times this summer we’ve run into an issue with the way people think we should be running our business and/or appointment cancellations/scheduling.

1. I need you all to understand that lots of days we are a 1-2 woman show inside the studio. We don’t have a receptionist. We can’t afford to pay a receptionist. This is why we offer online booking. Our online booking website explains every single service we do. It is HARD for us to answer the phone. Some days we just can’t make it happen. Which means call backs get pushed to the side. We are busy, and we are trying to foster a good relationship inside of the studio with clients who have already booked appointments sometimes 4-5 weeks in advanced so we don’t run to grab the phone every time it rings. Our online booking website is your best option. We also have email. But again, just look at our website, please.

2. Our hours are listed on our Google page, our booking website, and our page. For the most part, it’s pretty accurate. Check these hours before making a drive to us so you don’t waste your time. We are APPOINTMENT ONLY. When I say that, I mean that 99% of our days are once again filled with appointments that have been scheduled in advanced. Please don’t be rude to ANY of the girls who work inside of our studio because you cannot get in when you’d like. It’s not their fault, it is your fault for not booking in advanced. Do not get upset because we were closed and you didn’t check our hours. And honestly? Sometimes on slower days, we might leave to run errands, go home, etc. We have worked hard to be appointment based only. We have also worked hard to stay booked and busy. Could you get a same day appointment some days? Yes. Book it online. Thank you.

3. We have a no call/no show policy as well as a late notice cancellation policy. We are going to be strictly enforcing this as we wind down the rest of this year and gear up for 2027. 100% if you don’t show up. 50% if it’s a late notice. Please don’t tell me you’d be happy to show up to work, get yourself prepped and prepared, and then be happy when your boss said, “sorry we don’t need you today. We forgot. We also won’t be paying you for the time you spent getting ready for the day.” You’re lying to me and yourself. Nobody would be happy about that. This policy ensures that every beauty provider gets their time accounted for and respected.

4. Our booking app sends you reminders. Period. You get texts and emails from us. This is so helpful to all of us involved. Which means if you booked an appointment on a Wednesday but came in on Tuesday…. We can’t service you. Because we are servicing other clients. Or maybe we have that day off. Please do not get angry over a mistake you made with your schedule and calendar.

5. No, we don’t offer facials in the same room as another facial. We have separate rooms. Why? Because we like it that way. Can you and a friend come in and get facials together? Yes. But you’ll be in separate rooms. Period. That’s how we operate our business and no matter how badly that has seemed to upset some people… we aren’t changing that.

6. We will NOT tolerate being bullied, belittled, or treated like we are less than you just for simply having these rules in place. You are not allowed to talk down to us, treat us like garbage, or disrespect any of the beauty providers in any way. SHAME on you if this is your behavior. It’s rude. And wrong. You will be banned as a client.

Please understand that we have these rules in place for a reason. Please understand that we all have lives outside of the beauty studio. We have children, significant others, pets, and schedules outside of being your beauty provider. It’s important to have a work life balance. We follow this. Getting mad at us for any of the above reasons will no longer be tolerated, and you will be asked to leave our premises.

Michelle Johnstone built her brow business one client at a time, and it shows in the trophy case.

She started at the Ulta brow bar in Adrian to build her craft and her clientele, and once her book was full enough, she took the leap. She found a building and opened Pink Beach Brows in 2019. As her team grew and services expanded, it became Pink Beach Skin and Beauty Bar, but brows are still where it started.

Michelle holds four brow certifications (laminations, hybrid tint, traditional tint, and shaping), plus five permanent makeup certifications and two spray tan certifications. Pink Beach has been in the running for Best of Lenawee every year since opening, and took the title two years running in 2023 and 2024.
