Let me reintroduce myself…✨

To those who have been with me from the beginning, thank you for walking alongside me on this journey. And to all of the new faces who have joined us recently, welcome! 💓

I’m Karen James, the owner and founder of KP JAMES Salon. As a first generation American with Croatian roots, I grew up learning the value of hard work, faith, family, and serving others. My mom was my very first mentor, and she showed me that this industry is about so much more than hair. It’s about helping people feel confident, cared for, and truly seen.

After cosmetology school, I built my foundation as a Redken Color Specialist, and over the years I’ve found a passion for creating beautiful lived in hair, bold precision haircuts, and restoring healthy hair through hyaluronic acid hair treatments. I also love mentoring other artists and creating a salon culture rooted in education, creativity, and genuine care.

When I’m not behind the chair, my greatest joy is spending time with my wonderful husband and our two beautiful daughters and son, pouring into friendships, or traveling back to Croatia to reconnect with my roots.

Thank you for being here and for allowing me to do what I love every single day. I’m so grateful to have you as part of the KP JAMES family. 🤗

Meet Alyssa ☕️

Alyssa is our full-time Front Desk Coordinator and truly keeps everything running behind the scenes. She’s the friendly voice you’ll hear when you call the salon, the first face you’ll see when you walk through our doors, and the person making sure every day runs as smoothly as possible. She knows our booking system inside and out, keeps everything organized, and is always happy to help both our clients and our team.

Alyssa graduated beauty school in November 2024 and is a licensed cosmetologist, so she understands the beauty industry from more than just the front desk. Her favorite part about working at KP James is getting to talk with our clients and coworkers every day. She loves building those relationships and making everyone feel welcome. Her goal is simply to live a happy and healthy life, and we think that positive outlook is one of the many reasons she’s such an important part of our salon family.
