📢 OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: New Landing Fees Structure at Leer Airstrip

The Commissioner’s Office of Leer County, Unity State (Republic of South Sudan) has officially issued a new administrative order outlining the revised landing fee structure for Leer Airstrip.

In accordance with the powers vested under Chapter VI, Section 52 (a) of the South Sudan Local Government Act 2009 A.D., the County Commissioner, Hon. Maj. Gen. Stephen Taker Riak D**g, has instituted Order No. 29/2026 A.D. to regulate and establish a clear structure for aircraft and cargo operations.

The order is fully effective as of July 6, 2026.

✈️ Revised Fee Structure (in USD):

Cargo: 200 USD

19 Seats: 200 USD

Aerojet: 120 USD

Kush Air: 120 USD

Caravan: 100 USD

NATIONAL MINISTRY OF HEALTH AND CBM LAUNCH TRACHOMA MASS DRUG ADMINISTRATION IN LEER COUNTY; COMMISSIONER HON. MAJ. GEN. STEPHEN TAKER RIAK OPENS AND FACILITATES THE CAMPAIGN

LEER COUNTY — The National Ministry of Health (NMoH), in partnership with the Christian Blind Mission (CBM), has officially launched a vital Mass Drug Administration (MDA) campaign for Trachoma prevention and eye care in Leer County.

The launch event was officially opened by the County Commissioner, Hon. Maj. Gen. Stephen Taker Riak, who is actively facilitating the administrative and logistical process to ensure the campaign successfully reaches every household across the county.

Commissioner Taker expressed deep appreciation to NMoH and CBM for bringing this crucial preventive health service to the people of Leer.

County Health Director Lunydok Sam Tet will oversee the local implementation of the distribution, ensuring health teams are deployed efficiently.

Director Sam emphasized that the MDA is a critical preventative measure against blinding Trachoma and urged the community to cooperate fully with health workers.

The Office of the Commissioner calls upon all Payam administrators, traditional chiefs, and youth leaders to facilitate the smooth movement and work of the NMoH and CBM medical teams during this multi-day campaign.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT

Yesterday, Friday, June 5, 2026, Leer County officially received a donation of 192 school desks under the RSRTF project. The donation will benefit six public secondary schools across Leer County, helping to improve the learning environment for students.

On behalf of the State Ministry of General Education and Instruction, the Director of Education, Cde. Gatjung Gatwang Tap, extends sincere appreciation to World Relief South Sudan for this generous support and commitment to strengthening education in our communities.

Special thanks also go to the County Commissioner, Hon. Maj. Gen. Stephen Taker Riak D**g, for facilitating and supporting all the processes that made this donation possible.
