Many people think bengkung is only about making the tummy smaller, but mothers often experience it as something more supportive than that. A thoughtfully applied wrap can help a mother feel comfortably held, more aware of her posture, and more comfortable as she moves through recovery.
It should not feel painfully tight or create pressure to look a certain way. Bengkung works best as part of broader postpartum care that includes rest, massage, reassurance, and practical guidance.
Comment “BENGKUNG” if you’d like to know whether bengkung is suitable for your recovery.

Postpartum recovery is often made up of small forms of support. A quiet rest, a warm drink, a helpful hand, and a wrap that helps the mother feel more held can all matter. Bengkung is not about forcing the body to bounce back. It can be part of a recovery routine that supports comfort, posture awareness, and the mother’s relationship with her changing body.
Every mother deserves care that feels respectful and realistic. Follow Mummy’s Massage for postpartum reminders that are kind, practical, and mother-centred.

I'm excited to finally share a conversation that has been long overdue!
On October 14, I’ll be sitting down with Dr Hoda Harb, Consultant OBGYN, for a conversation I think we need to have more often:
What do mothers really need after birth?
Is modern medicine enough on its own?
Can traditional and holistic postpartum care support recovery — and where are its limits?
Too often, we feel like we have to choose one side or the other. But can these approaches co-exist and complement one another?
That’s what we’ll be exploring in Two Perspectives, One Mother.
Moderated by Cheyenne Varner of , with time for your questions too.

Recovery is often made up of small victories. For Nur, being able to walk more comfortably again became a meaningful sign that support matters. She appreciated not only the massage but also the practical tips, binder, oils, and care items that helped her feel guided through the process.
Mothers deserve support that is reassuring, useful, and respectful of their recovery pace. Save this as a reminder that small improvements still count, or WhatsApp +65 9336 9747 to ask about postnatal support.

My journey into the world of traditional medicine began when my eldest sister gave birth to her first son, the first grandson in our family.
Two days after giving birth, my sister was assessed and deemed medically fit for discharge. At the time, I was working in a hospital and was very familiar with the healthcare system. But as I watched her painfully limp her way out of the hospital, I remember thinking, that’s it? She’s okay to go home?
Upon arriving home, my mother transformed into this strict matriarch I had never known her to be. For 44 days, she watched over every aspect of my sister’s recovery — how she moved, what she ate, how much she rested, even the temperature of her surroundings and her drinks — alongside an array of daily traditional treatments.
And just as those 44 days of meticulous care came to an end, right on time came her routine six-week appointment. She walked back into the same healthcare system that had discharged her weeks earlier and was told she had recovered.
But I had witnessed everything that had happened in between.
That experience 16 years ago opened my eyes to the limitations of medical care and challenged the bias I had held against traditional medicine. It sparked the journey I’m still on today — exploring these two approaches, and the space that connects them.
P.S. Please excuse the 2010 phone quality 🤍😂

If you are preparing for your postpartum recovery, bengkung can be one part of the support you plan ahead. Some mothers like knowing what to expect before baby arrives, while others only decide after birth when they realise what their body needs. Either way is valid.
Bengkung may offer comfort, posture awareness, and a supported feeling when applied with care and matched to the mother’s stage. The goal is not to rush recovery, but to help mothers feel cared for.

A mother may be medically fit for discharge — but her recovery is only beginning.
Modern medicine plays an essential role after birth. But is medical care alone enough to support the weeks of recovery that follow?
And if traditional and holistic postpartum care can help fill that space, where does it fit — and where are its limits?
Two perspectives. One mother.
Tomorrow, we’re opening the conversation. 💜🌿

Postpartum can make a mother feel like she no longer recognises her own body. Natalya’s honest reflection speaks to many mothers who are adjusting to water retention, tension, body changes, and the emotional weight of recovery.
Supportive care is not about perfection or instant results. It is about helping a mother feel seen, reassured, and encouraged as she moves through a new chapter.
If your body feels unfamiliar after birth, Comment “POSTNATAL” or WhatsApp +65 9336 9747 and we will support you with care.

A helpful bengkung tip: comfort should always come first. The wrap should feel secure and supportive, but not harsh or frightening. Mothers should feel able to speak up if something feels too tight, too warm, or uncomfortable.
Postpartum bodies are tender, and recovery care should respect that. The small details matter: how the fabric sits, how the therapist explains the wrap, and whether the mother feels listened to.
At Mummy’s Massage, care is built around reassurance and practical guidance. WhatsApp +65 9336 9747 to ask about postpartum packages.

New mothers already have enough to manage. Alesti’s experience shows why home-based postnatal care can feel so helpful: professional service, thoughtful setup, and the comfort of staying in her own space.
For many mothers, avoiding travel after birth is not a luxury; it removes one more layer of stress. Care should feel convenient, respectful, and reassuring from start to finish.
If home-based postnatal care feels right for you, WhatsApp +65 9336 9747 to check package and availability.
