Our CRP project team took part in the 5km fun run at the recent Singtel - Singapore Cancer Society Race Against Cancer 2026 at East Coast Park, perfectly embodying our purpose to Do Well, Do Good.

The group of 23 raised $2,140 to support the cause, and Woh Hup further contributed to bring the total funds to $12,140. These will go to supporting those impacted by cancer through treatments, research and care.

One museum outing with migrant workers. That's where it all began for Hariharan and Gowtham.

Today, these two Woh Hup colleagues have taken their volunteering journey further โ€” training as caseworkers with Ray of Hope (ROH), visiting dormitories, listening to migrant brothers' concerns, and connecting them to the help they need. When a case is urgent, they make sure it reaches ROH for fast action.

Anjappan Gowthaman, from Contracts, stepped up because "many migrant brothers need significant support and assistance." Senior M&E Supervisor Karuppiah Hariharan wanted to "make my free time meaningful."

Through their training, they've learnt the power of kind communication; how to understand a person's situation, analyse their problems, and find the right solution. And for Gowtham, the journey has sparked something bigger: "My desire to inspire others to engage in social work is growing."

Their advice to fellow colleagues? Hariharan puts it best: "Every opportunity must be used... we are all never born again, so don't miss it." Gowtham's reason in one line: "I volunteer because I love myself and society."

Hariharan and Gowtham, thank you for going beyond our organised activities and giving your time so generously to others. You're an inspiration to us all!

Our Contracts department recently took a short getaway to Pulau Tioman for a memorable team bonding trip, stepping away from their daily work routine to strengthen friendships, teamwork and collaboration. ๐ŸŒด๐Ÿ

From exciting team bonding games to snorkelling in the clear waters and trekking through nature trails, the activities brought everyone together while creating many enjoyable moments and shared experiences.

The trip provided a great opportunity for team members to connect outside of work, build stronger relationships and return refreshed and ready for the challenges ahead. Overall, it was a meaningful and rewarding experience for the team.

Back on familiar grounds, catching up with familiar faces and meeting plenty of new ones ๐Ÿ™Œ๐ŸŽ“

Earlier this month, our Talent Acquisition team headed to the NUS CDE Career Fair and NTU Job-In Fair to share more about Woh Hup, the Built Environment and the opportunities available through our internship programme and future careers with us.

From reconnecting with former interns to meeting students keen to join our internship programme and those discovering Woh Hup for the first time, we enjoyed every conversation.

We were also encouraged to see students from a wider range of disciplines curious about where their skills and perspectives could take them in the Built Environment.

Thank you to everyone who dropped by! We hope to see some of these familiar faces again, perhaps next time as interns or future colleagues ๐Ÿ‘‹

As a Senior BIM Coordinator, Bao leads the project BIM team in developing construction models and planning deliverables. Working directly with the models, he gets first dibs on visualising the buildings in 3D and witnessing them gradually materialise before his eyes day by day.

His team is essential in ensuring that the models effectively support issue identification and coordination with technical teams, as well as assisting the production team in delivering projects on time and with better efficiency. Coordinating across the three main disciplinesโ€”architecture, structure, and MEPโ€”requires not only strong technical knowledge, but also effective communication, active listening, and collaboration to find practical solutions whenever issues arise.

He feels motivated to continuously learn and improve to conquer the unique challenges each project brings, because a solution that works for one project may not necessarily work for another. โ€œYou are only as good as your last workโ€ is a quote he keeps in mind to constantly push himself.

Believing Woh Hup provides the right environment to grow both professionally and personally, he is also blessed with likeminded colleagues who are supportive and equally driven. They are also whom he goes on runs and exercises with after office hours, where they exchange experiences and build stronger relationships and networks that enrich his work life.

Did you know? Queens was the tallest condominium in Singapore when it was completed in 2002! Featuring three distinctive towers standing 38 storeys tall, it served as a prominent landmark in the Queenstown district.

With Woh Hup's regular volunteering sessions, XinYi was encouraged to participate in these initiatives for the convenience and company. She then found them to be very meaningful as it gave her an opportunity to help people in need and give back to the community.

The positive social impact she has made is reflected in how some of the elderly and children she has helped were reluctant for the volunteers to leave and even asked them to visit again. Seeing their smiles affirms that her small acts of kindness brought satisfaction not just to herself but to others.

Spending time with the elderly and listening to their life stories also taught her valuable lessons and inspired a greater appreciation for life.
