Women over 40: strength training is about so much more than how your body looks.
New 2026 research in perimenopausal and early postmenopausal women found that heavy strength and impact training twice a week improved lean mass, strength, power and lumbar-spine bone density.
That matters because during the menopause transition, protecting muscle AND bone becomes increasingly important for our long-term health.
My takeaway? Stop exercising simply to burn calories.
Train for the woman you want to be at 60, 70 and 80. 💗
Strong isn’t just how you look. It’s an investment in your future health.

✨ Något spännande är på gång… ✨
Snart får ni veta. ✨

Your body isn’t working against you after 40. 💗
But it is asking you to work with it differently.
As hormones fluctuate during perimenopause and menopause, you may start noticing changes that seem to come from nowhere…
✨ Weight gathering around your middle
✨ Less energy
✨ Poorer sleep
✨ Brain fog
✨ Feeling more stressed or anxious
✨ Changes in your skin, hair and body composition
✨ What worked in your 30s suddenly doesn’t seem to work anymore
And this is where I want women to stop blaming themselves.
The answer isn’t simply to eat less and exercise more.
Your body has changed and the way you support it needs to change too.
🥗 Prioritise protein, fibre and nutrient-dense foods
🏋️ Build and protect muscle
🩷 Support healthy blood-sugar regulation
😴 Make sleep a priority
🌿 Give your nervous system time to recover
🚶 Move your body consistently
And perhaps most importantly, look beyond the number on the scales.
The choices we make in our 40s, 50s and beyond aren’t just about weight.
They’re about protecting our muscle, bones, metabolic health, brain health and independence for the years ahead.
You don’t need to fight your changing body.
You need to understand it. 💗
What’s the biggest change you’ve noticed since turning 40? I’d love to hear from you below. 👇

Creamy roasted red pepper chicken 🍗✨
If you need a quick dinner that feels a bit special, this is one of my favourites. High protein, full of flavour and it supports steady energy.

1 tsp extra virgin olive oil
Sea salt and black pepper
110 g roasted red peppers, drained
1 garlic clove, minced

3. Pour the sauce over the chicken, cover, and simmer on a medium to low heat for 7 to 10 minutes until cooked through.

A day away from work, a little fresh air and some fantastic golf ⛳️💗
I had such a brilliant day at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.
And it reminded me of something I often talk about with women in my clinic, looking after our health isn’t only about what we eat or how much we exercise.
It’s also about making time for the things that bring us joy.
Getting outside. Switching off. Laughing. Spending time with people we enjoy. Doing something completely different from our normal routine.
During our 40s, 50s and beyond, when life can feel particularly busy and our bodies are navigating so many changes, these moments matter.
Rest and recovery don’t always have to mean sitting still. Sometimes they look like a day on a golf course, walking in the fresh air and simply having fun. 💗
A very happy day at Wentworth! ⛳️😁

A few wonderful days in London and now I’m heading off for a few days of golf ⛳️☀️ and looking forward to watching the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth too! 🏌️♀️✨
One thing I’m passionate about for women over 40 is remembering that looking after our health isn’t only about what we eat or how we exercise. It’s also about getting outside, moving our bodies, having fun and making time for the things that bring us joy. 💕
That’s all part of feeling strong, energised and well as we move through the menopause years and beyond.
Here’s to a few days of fresh air, golf and switching off! ⛳️✨
