Sometimes we can develop symptoms in our body without really knowing what the cause is. Maybe that crick in your neck is due to sleeping in an awkward position; or the twinge in your knee could be because you jolted it by missing your footing on a set of stairs.

Whatever the cause the important aspect is that you don’t leave it too long to seek help from a physical therapist.

The body is very clever at compensating for pain which means it will adjust for example a hip position to help relieve tension further down the body. Therefore it can take several treatments for the body to re-learn the healthy/correct position or posture, instead of going back to a familiar position which was created to compensate for pain. This is why we can’t promise that your pain will be resolved in one treatment but most certainly it will trigger the body to begin the healing process from day one.
