I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve said,
“I don’t want to do this anymore. I’m so tired.”

But every time I see all of you, I quietly remind myself, “Maybe this is what I’m meant to do. Maybe teaching all of you is the one thing I’m meant to be good at.”

And somehow, I keep choosing to get up, show up, and try again for all of you.

I understand why Kim Chiu’s biological father chose to be there for Lakam, and I also understand why Kim made the decision she did.

But what touched me the most was the person who isn’t related to her by blood, yet chose to stand by her as a father by choice.

Direk Lauren Dyogi proves that love isn’t always about being related by blood. Sometimes, it’s about choosing to be there for someone, especially during the most difficult times.

To someone who isn’t related to you at all, yet chose to be there and became like a father who would do everything for his daughter. This action truly admirable.

May we all find someone we can run to when we face the biggest and most difficult challenges in life, whether they are family by blood or family by choice.

A reminder to us that we don’t have to face everything alone. We need someone. We have one.

Because at the end of the day, family isn’t always defined by blood. Sometimes, family is the person who chooses you.

Napapagod din ako bilang breadwinner~

tbh, nakakapagod maging breadwinner. ayoko nang maging breadwinner kung may choice lang ako, pero wala. kailangan, dahil walang ibang gagawa nito kundi ako.

siguro, kung may sasalo, ibibigay ko ang responsibilidad na ito nang may buong pasasalamat. hindi dahil gusto kong takasan ang obligasyon ko, kundi alam kong sa wakas, makakahinga na rin ako mula sa bigat na matagal ko nang pasan nang mag-isa.

makakaalis na rin siguro ako sa mga gabing punong-puno ng luha, sa mga matang kulang na kulang sa tulog dahil sa walang tigil na pag-iisip kung paano na naman lalaban kinabukasan. Kung paano pagkakasyahin ang lahat.

pero kahit ganoon, palagi pa ring sumasagi sa isip ko, "Hindi, okay lang ako. Matatapos din ito. Konting tiis na lang. Para sa pamilya ko ito."

paulit-ulit kong kinukumbinsi ang sarili ko na kakayanin ko pa. Na kaya ko pang lumaban kahit ubos na ubos na ako.

pero ang totoo, may bahagi rin ng sarili ko na pagod na. yung sarili kong naghahanap ng taong sasalo kahit sandali. yung taong mapagsasabihan ko ng, "Napapagod din ako. Puwede bang magpahinga kahit saglit lang?"

hindi ko hinihinging mawala ang lahat ng responsibilidad. hindi ko rin hinihinging may ibang umako ng lahat. gusto ko lang maramdaman na hindi ko dalahin ang buong mundo nang mag-isa.

kasi kahit gaano ako katatag napapagod din ako.

At kahit breadwinner ako, tao lang din ako.

i used to be afraid of eating out because i felt like everyone was looking at me. i thought people would talk about me. then i realized it was actually okay and even enjoyable.

now, eating alone has become a habit for me; it's one of my favorite things to do.

a reminder that growth often begins the moment we step beyond our fears.
