Still worried, mama? Start with these
⏰ 1. How often baby feeds
• Feed AS PER DEMAND and watch for early hunger cues like stirring, mouth opening, or searching for the breast. Start positioning baby as soon as you notice them.
• For newborns: Aim for around 8–12 feedings a day. Don’t time the feeds. Watch the baby, not the clock. Feeding about every 2 hours can be used as a guide, but follow baby’s hunger cues too.
🤱 2. Is baby latching correctly?
• A deep and comfortable latch means baby is feeding effectively.
• A “suck, suck, pause” rhythm can be a sign that baby is drinking well.
• Baby being relaxed, sleepy, or having open palms during or after feeding can also be a good sign that they’re getting milk.
• PAINFUL latch is NOT normal. If breastfeeding hurts, seek help from a breastfeeding counselor.
🤍 3. Milk supply
• The more often baby feeds, the more milk your body will make. That’s the basic idea of supply and demand.
Your body RESPONDS to your baby’s needs.
• A positive mindset and confidence can help too. Stress can affect milk let-down, so give yourself grace, get enough support, and trust your breastfeeding journey.
Always remember, never kulang ang gatas mo. 💚
Don’t forget to save this for later Mama!
