Youth With A Vision La Union

The Youth with a Vision or the YWAV, the Youth Ministry arm of Jesus Is Alive Community began in 1992 under the inspiring leadership of Kuya Mon Fernandez, who was then a full time worker assigned to lead the youth group. Two of the most significant individuals who inspired, guided and supported Kuya Mon were his Tita Emy or Nanay Emy of the JIA membership and JIA’s founding father Tatay Benjamin “Ben” Baluyot. Fulfilling the challenge of John 15:16 – bearing fruit where you are planted and wherever you are that is your mission field, Kuya Mon started preaching and evangelizing the Word of God in his neighborhood in Makati and in his school. The name YWAV traces its roots back to these small youth groups. When Kuya Mon was assigned to JIA Home Base, he, together with other youth leaders decided to adapt the YWAV name. Youth With A Vision La Union (YWAV-LU) is the youth ministry arm of Jesus is Alive Community. YWAV-La Union Headquarters (YWAV-LUHQ) aims to unify and solidify every young people of JIA.
