ABOUT THE PRE-FORUM:
The Global Forum on Research and Innovation for Health 2015 aims to identify solutions to the world’s unmet health needs through resea
rch and innovation. The Forum will bring together all stakeholders who play a role in making research and innovation benefit health, equity and development. This includes high-level representatives from government, business, non- profits, international organizations, academic and research institutions and social entrepreneurs among others. The Forum also provides a perfect venue for new leaders in health research, innovation, education, advocacy, and policy to take the spotlight and discuss the critical issues affecting global health today. Moreover, the Forum can serve as a platform for networking and capacity-building for these new leaders as they begin to shape the future of global health research and innovation. Therefore, #Reimagine Global Health, with the support of the Council on Health Research for Development (COHRED), in partnership with the Philippine Department of Health and Philippine Department of Science and Technology, will be holding the New Leaders for Health Pre-Forum 2015 on August 22-24, 2015 in Manila, Philippines. New leaders who will attend the Forum are encouraged to arrive two days before the main conference starts in order to interact with fellow new leaders, establish connections, engage in debates, and learn new ideas and updates in the area of global health research and innovation. As the name implies, the event will enable new leaders to together imagine the future of global health research and innovation as it faces 21st century’s challenges and opportunities – from climate change and growing health inequalities to technological innovation and the emergence of new markets. [ ] No strict age limit but those who are currently studying (Bachelors/Masters/PhD), have just finished their studies, are doing postdoctoral fellowship, or have just started working (2-5 years post-graduation) in global health research and innovation are encouraged to participate
