On the feast of St. Lorenzo Ruiz we honor the first Filipino saint. ALC Group founder Ambassador Antonio L. Cabangon Chua was a dedicated advocate for the saint’s canonization.

Entrusted by the late Manila Archbishop Jaime Cardinal Sin to spread devotion to St. Lorenzo Ruiz, Cabangon Chua commissioned the renowned sculptor Florante “Boy” Caedo to create statues of the saint. Those statues were donated to churches and communities across the country.

Today that legacy is visible in several Eternal Gardens parks, where dedicated plazas and columbariums.

We join the community in commemorating the life and legacy of St. Lorenzo Ruiz.
