Introducing our new Deep Pigmentation Programmes at The Skin Code.

After seeing just how common stubborn pigmentation is in our clinic — particularly with our high UV exposure here in the Bay of Plenty — we wanted to offer more comprehensive solutions for pigmentation that goes beyond the surface.

We now have two highly targeted treatment pathways, depending on your skin, lifestyle and how you would like to approach your results.

One is our more intensive approach — designed to achieve significant results with fewer in-clinic treatments, but with a little more downtime and commitment at home.

The other takes a slower, progressive approach with more in-clinic treatments and minimal downtime, while still achieving incredible results.

Both programmes use mesoestetic, a professional Spanish dermocosmetic brand specialising in advanced skin treatments and pigmentation management, with extensive research and clinical evidence behind its formulations and protocols.

These programmes may be suitable if you are struggling with:

YES — you still need to wear SPF every single day… even when it’s raining.

Here’s why.

UVB rays are the ones you tend to notice. They’re responsible for that hot, red sunburn and are strongest during the warmer months.

UVA rays are a little sneakier.

You don’t necessarily feel them on your skin, but they pe*****te deeper and contribute to the breakdown of collagen and elastin, premature ageing and those stubborn pigmentation spots that can show up years later.

And yes — UVA rays are still reaching your skin on cloudy and rainy days.

So our rule is simple:

SPF every morning, all year round.

And through the warmer months, don’t rely on that one application at 7am to see you through the entire day. Reapply regularly, particularly if you’re outdoors, sweating or spending time in direct sun.

One of our favourite ways to make reapplying easy is the beautiful Hydra Shield from Max and Louie.

You can mist it straight over your makeup for a quick SPF top-up, while giving your skin a gorgeous hit of hydration at the same time. With skin-loving ingredients including niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and aloe vera, it’s the kind of SPF you’ll actually WANT to keep reaching for.

Introducing Kara

Our beautiful Kara is such a special part of The Skin Code, and I honestly can’t express how much I appreciate her and everything she has brought to our clinic.

Kara has played such a big part in helping The Skin Code grow into what it is today, particularly in creating the reputation we have for our holistic approach to skin, relaxation and nervous system down-regulation.

She has the most incredible ability to make people feel completely at ease. It has been said many times that Kara has “magic hands”, and I couldn’t agree more. Her touch, her calm energy and the care she gives every single client is something really special.

One of the things I love most about Kara is that she understands that a treatment isn’t just about what we are putting on the skin. It’s about slowing everything down, allowing the nervous system to settle and giving someone permission to completely switch off — while still creating beautiful, glowing skin.

I’m incredibly grateful for everything she has contributed to The Skin Code and for the role she has played in shaping what we are now known for.

She really is our little ray of sunshine, and I feel very lucky to have her. X

Introducing Shaylah

I’ve had the privilege of watching Shaylah grow so much as a therapist over the past couple of years, and I’m incredibly proud of the therapist she is becoming.

Shaylah began her journey with us specialising in laser hair removal and skin rejuvenation, and since then she has continued to study, learn and expand her skills. She is currently completing postgraduate studies in Dermal Therapies and will shortly become one of the most highly qualified therapists here at The Skin Code.

She has such a genuine passion for skin and for getting beautiful results for her clients. She’s incredibly thorough, knowledgeable and always wanting to understand the why behind what she is doing.

But she also has the most beautiful touch.

Shaylah somehow manages to combine advanced skin treatments with that gorgeous feeling of being completely looked after. Her massage will have you melting into the bed, which I think is such an important part of what we do here — results and relaxation don’t have to be separate.

Her clients absolutely adore her, and her laser packages in particular keep her very busy. Her appointment book is already filling quickly between now and Christmas, so if you’re wanting laser, skin or beauty treatments heading into summer, I really recommend getting your appointments booked ahead.

I have so much confidence in Shaylah and wouldn’t hesitate to put my own skin in her hands.

My books are officially closed to new clients.

This is actually quite an emotional thing for me to write.

I have reached the point where I am completely unable to take on any new clients, and while it feels strange to say that out loud, more than anything I just feel incredibly grateful.

To every single one of you who has trusted me with your skin, your treatments, your stories and often so much more over the years — thank you. The loyalty and support you have shown me and The Skin Code means more than I could ever properly put into words.

So many of you have been with me for years. I’ve watched your families grow, shared the highs and the hard times, and formed relationships that go so far beyond simply being your skin therapist. I never take that trust for granted.

And while my own books are now closed, I want to say something that is really important to me.

I have been working alongside the girls for the past couple of years now, and I know their abilities, their knowledge and the level of care they put into what they do. They are incredible therapists and absolutely not to be underestimated.

I trust them completely.

Whether you are coming to us for your skin, laser, beauty treatments or simply some much-needed time for yourself, either one of them will look after you beautifully. They have each developed their own strengths and their own way of caring for our clients, and I am so proud of the therapists they have become.

So if you have been wanting to come to The Skin Code but haven’t been able to get an appointment with me, please don’t feel that you are missing out. You are in incredibly capable hands with my girls, and I wouldn’t have them beside me if I didn’t truly believe that.
