☀️🔨 From 40-year-old skylights to brand-new VELUX installations, it’s been another busy week for the LightenUp teams across Wellington and Kāpiti! 🏡✨

This week included skylight replacements, acrylic dome and single-glazing upgrades, solar-powered systems, and installations designed to bring more natural light and fresh air into homes. 🌿💨

📍 Tawa, Wellington
Two old acrylic domes were replaced with VELUX VCS 2246 solar-powered opening skylights. We also upgraded two older VELUX skylights to new GGU-CK04 centre-pivot opening roof windows. 🔄☀️

📍 Khandallah
An old single-glazed skylight was replaced with a double-glazed VELUX FCM 2270 as part of a new roofing project alongside MidNite Roofing Ltd. 🏠🛠️

📍 Waikanae, Kāpiti Coast
Four VELUX VS-C08 manual opening skylights were installed for NZ Proud Building Renovators. Custom flashings have been measured and ordered, ready for the final weathertight installation — stay tuned for the finished result! 📏🔧✨

📍 Aro Valley
A VELUX TWR-OK14 Sun Tunnel was replaced. 🌞🔧

📍 Whitby
A 35-year-old VELUX FS-308 was replaced with a new double-glazed VELUX FS-M08. 🎉🏡

📍 Raumati South, Kāpiti Coast
Two 40-year-old VELUX FS-601 skylights were replaced with new double-glazed VELUX FS-S01 skylights using the VELUX EKW Combi flashing system. 🔨✨

📍 Khandallah
Two VELUX FS-C08 skylights were installed between the existing roof trusses using a VELUX EKW Combi kit. Leaving the truss chords exposed as a feature, with the gib finished around them, gives this installation a great architectural look. 🏗️👌

📍 Mount Cook, Wellington
Another builder installation, this time for Coorey Builders — two VELUX FS-M08 double-glazed skylights were installed with solar-powered blinds. ☀️🪟

📍 Kingsley Heights, Upper Hutt
A VELUX FS-C01 was installed as part of a garage conversion, where a new ensuite is being created. We completed the skylight and light shaft before the new walls went in, finishing the gib 100mm below the existing ceiling to allow for the builders’ new lowered ceiling. 🚿🔨

📍 Paraparaumu Beach, Kāpiti Coast
A VELUX VCS 2234 solar-powered opening skylight was installed in a bedroom now being used as a home office. 💻🌤️
