Some of you have reached out about scalp problems since that post I made back in August.

On the topic of scalp problems, I try to help where I can, suggesting a few gentle things to try. It's rarely an overnight fix; usually it takes a bit of time, and a bit of trial and elimination, to work out what your scalp's actually responding to.

I can give general, gentle scalp care advice with confidence. But if something's outside what I know, I'd encourage you to see a GP or dermatologist who can have a proper look.

If it's been a while since anyone looked at what your scalp's doing, that's an easy thing to bring up next time you're in the chair.

"Can't we just go lighter?"

It's the question I get alot, and here's my honest answer: not straight away, and here's why.

Years of box dye leaves a lot of build-up in the hair, and it doesn't lift evenly, you can't undo that in one appointment. She's also naturally dark, so pushing too light too fast means more damage, and a result that doesn't actually suit her.

So we go slow and steady. A little more blending each visit, condition protected the whole way.

Beautiful hair isn't rushed - it's planned. 🤍

You don't need more product. You're just using too much of it.

One of the most common things I hear in the studio: "that professional shampoo ran out so fast." you're using supermarket amounts of a concentrated product.

Let me explains: professional formulas are concentrated. They're not padded out with fillers and water, so a coin-sized amount does what a palmful of the diluted stuff does. Using more doesn't get your hair cleaner, it just washes money down the drain and can leave buildup behind that makes hair flat and dull.

Rule of thumb: one small dollop of shampoo, lather, and your second wash use *half* that. Conditioner - mid-lengths and ends only, your roots don't need it. That bottle should be lasting you months, not weeks.

Are you seeing tired eyes, brows that have given up asking for anything, and a mascara wand working overtime just to look awake before the school run.

You don't need more effort, you need less. A lash lift takes your own natural lashes and simply lifts them from the root, your lashes will look like you got the full eight hours. Add a tint and you can genuinely leave the mascara in the drawer. And brow lamination does the same for brows, soft, feathered, brushed-into-place.

Spring is not that far away. This is the appointment that means you walk into it already done.
