Our second pathway Leah was in the studio hanging with me and Jade today getting some practice in and she did so good beautiful application and focus.

Leah is going to have a couple more practice days and then will be officially starting in the studio on Thursday 15th October.

Our beauty skills aspect of the program is designed to empower and build confidence.

Not everyone who joins our program wants to work in the beauty industry but a common theme is that they don’t believe in themselves beyond their past.

Learning a skill helps them to realise they are capable, and to give themself a reference point for that capability.

For those who do want to go into beauty it also gives them tangible experience to create financial independence and opportunities.

Beauty was actually the turning point in my life out of addiction, trauma and it created so many opportunities for me and I’m so grateful that I get to share my experience with other wāhine.

The wahine that do pathway into our For Her | Beauty Studio Ōtautahi are supported to build a career and running as a charity all profit goes back to the wāhine and any income for the studio runs our costs.

I’m so proud of what we are creating and can’t believe it’s still so new but thriving already.

Ziah officially starts with us next week and is running a lash extension training special to help up build her speed, technique and master application.

She is able to offer classics, volumes and hybrids (using Premade volume fans)
