Improving Kiwi lives: one Solatube at a time. Our company comes from humble beginnings, as most Kiwi companies do. The start of a longterm partnership.
Thanks to its innovative technology and unrivalled performance, Solatube brightens any room with beautiful natural daylight, transforming dark spaces into places you love. Our founders (a husband and wife team) spotted Solatube Skylights at an Australian convention and knew that New Zealanders would want to lighten up their worlds too. 25 years later, there are thousands of Solatube Daylighting Systems in homes all over New Zealand. Even though we’ve grown, our humble, family-style culture hasn’t changed – nor has our goal of helping Kiwis feel happier in their homes. Solatube is trading under Just Life Group, a New Zealand owned company that’s listed on the NZX. This gives us the scale and business know-how to help us achieve our ultimate goal: a Solatube Skylight (or several) brightening up every Kiwi home. Just Life Group is majority owned by Kiwi businessman, Tony Falkenstein, who has literally written the book on business in New Zealand. Like us, he’s a big believer in staying Kiwi owned too. If you have any questions or want more information don’t hesitate to get in touch! We’d love to hear from you. Ph: 0800 765 288

A dark bathroom can make the whole space feel smaller, colder and less inviting.
Now imagine the same room filled with beautiful natural daylight. ☀️
That’s the difference a Solatube Skylight can make.
It captures daylight at roof level and carries it through a highly reflective tube into the room below — helping brighten spaces where traditional windows may not be practical.
No major renovation. No need to give up privacy. Just natural light where you need it most.

You’ve got a dark room, so naturally, you start thinking about adding a window. 🪟
More daylight sounds perfect… until you think about everything that comes with it.
You lose privacy. You lose wall space. And suddenly, bringing in more light means cutting into an existing wall, dealing with framing, cladding, lining and a much bigger renovation than you had in mind.
But what if the daylight came from above instead? ☀️
A Solatube Skylight brings beautiful natural light into your home through the roof — without creating a sight line into your space and without taking up valuable wall space.
That means even bathrooms, hallways, wardrobes and rooms with no external wall can enjoy natural daylight.
All the light. Without the window.

This wasn’t just a warm roof space.
At this rest home, heat had been building up in the roof cavity to the point that the sprinkler system had even been triggered.
Something needed to change.
Our Solatube licensee in Northland installed four RM1600 solar-powered roof ventilation systems to help improve airflow and extract trapped heat from the roof space. ☀️💨
The RM1600 uses the power of the sun to ventilate the roof cavity — no mains power required — helping reduce heat build-up where it matters most.
It’s a good reminder that what’s happening above the ceiling can have a real impact on the building below.

MYTH: Solatube only works in summer. ☀️❌
The truth? Solatube works all year round.
It doesn’t rely on summer heat or perfectly sunny days — it captures available daylight and brings it into your home, whether it’s a bright summer afternoon or a cooler, cloudier day.
Of course, the amount of natural light will change with the weather and the seasons, just as it does through a window. But Solatube is designed to make the most of the daylight that’s available throughout the year.
So no, brighter spaces aren’t just for summer. ☀️🏡

Brighten your bathroom. Clear the steam. Keep your ceiling beautifully simple. ☀️
With Solatube Skylights + Ventilation, you can bring natural daylight into darker bathrooms or laundries while helping remove excess moisture — all through one clever, integrated system.
Why combine the two?
✨ Beautiful natural light
Bring daylight into spaces where traditional windows or skylights may not be practical.
💨 Built-in ventilation
Help remove steam and humidity from bathrooms, supporting a fresher, more comfortable space.
🏡 Clean, uncluttered design
Daylighting and ventilation are combined into one attractive ceiling fixture, rather than adding multiple fittings overhead.
🌿 A healthier-feeling home
Better ventilation can help reduce the excess moisture that contributes to dampness in bathrooms.
One smart system. Two important jobs.

Living rooms are made for everyday moments — relaxing, connecting, entertaining and simply being at home. ☀️
But when natural light is limited, even a beautiful space can feel darker and less inviting than it should.
These living rooms show how Solatube can bring daylight deeper into the home, creating spaces that feel brighter, warmer and more open throughout the day.
Swipe through for a little living room inspiration and see what a difference natural light can make. ✨

A home office should be a place that helps you feel focused, energised and inspired — and natural light can make all the difference. ☀️
Here, Solatube brings daylight into a tucked-away workspace that would otherwise rely heavily on artificial lighting, creating a brighter, more inviting place to work throughout the day.

Sometimes, the biggest transformation doesn't come from changing the room — it comes from changing the light. ✨
This kitchen went from feeling dark and enclosed to bright, open and welcoming, with Solatube bringing natural light into the heart of the home.
Installed by our Otago licensee, it's a beautiful example of how daylight doesn't just change the way a space looks — it changes how it feels to be in it. ☀️
