Add your own unrealistic rule below I’m sure there are many.
You are allowed to make up your own rules.
To sit in the season of everything going to s**z.
To choose to change if/as needed.
To like feeling beautiful in your own expression of it or to care about how you look because it is a form of self expression.
The rules places upon us are so incredibly unrealistic so maybe it’s time to ignore them and make our own that leave us feeling safe and truthfully content in our own skin as we are, imperfect and at times imbalanced and always with the capacity to experience and express beauty.

Historically, women have been taught to compete and compare with one another over our beauty, our gifts, our bodies, our skills, our worth.

The greatest resistence to this can be simple:

Celebrating one another. Practicing the remembrance that competing separates us and together we are stronger and more at peace.

Practising the untangling of the women’s wound that has been passed down through generations, dating back to the witch hunts, perhaps even further.

Choosing collaboration over comparison.
Celebration over competition.
Sisterhood over scarcity.
Leaning into creation of what jealousy triggers in us when another women has what we want.

Maybe healing the wound doesn’t always have to be profound.

Maybe sometimes it looks like simply being genuinely happy to see another woman rise. Another women’s beauty.

Sure….I have beef with the beauty industry, the patriotic version that teaches us their must be something wrong with us if we don’t meet “their” societally approved version of beauty, the version of beauty that capitalises on our insecurities or making sure we have them, BUT, beauty isn’t the enemy just a mere bystander asking us to see it all around us and within us. Inviting us to express it the way that lights us up not in a way that pleases others.
