Earthwoven was created around a pretty simple idea.
Naturally derived skincare should still be able to target real skin concerns.
Redness.
Reactivity.
Breakouts.
Imbalance.
Dryness.
So every product in the routine has a clear purpose, and the ingredients are chosen to actually support that purpose.

Dryness, oiliness, breakouts and sensitivity can exist at the same time.
That is because these things are not opposites. They can all be signs that the skin is struggling with balance, hydration or barrier function. This is why moisturiser is such an important step, even for people who would not describe their skin as dry.
The right formula should hydrate, support the barrier and help the skin feel more comfortable without leaving it heavy or greasy.

I think one of the strangest parts of building a business publicly is that people often only see the finished version of things.
The decisions, the uncertainty, the changes, the personal stuff behind it all usually happen long before anyone sees the outcome. So this is a little bit of that middle part.
Thank you for continuing to back Earthwoven through all the parts you don’t always get to see 🤍
If you’ve been with Earthwoven from the start, you’ll know one of the biggest things I wanted to do was keep our pricing as accessible as I realistically could, while still making the kind of products I wanted to put out into the world.
I always found that the targeted treatments I needed, whether on the shelves or in a clinic, were just a little out of my budget. I really don’t want Earthwoven to become inaccessible to anyone, especially the people who already love it and are too scared to switch because it’s the only thing that works for their skin.
So, rather than increasing our product prices, I’m making a small change to our NZ shipping:
Orders over $49 will still get free shipping.
Orders below $49 will have a $4.99 shipping charge.
I realise this isn’t ideal, especially when you’ve been used to free shipping on every order. But costs have changed so much over the past four years, and we’ve absorbed everything we can.
This is how I’m trying to keep our products accessible while covering a little more of what it costs to get them to you. How does this change feel for you? Especially if you usually order one product at a time, I’d like to hear from you. This change will take effect from Monday 21 September 🗓️

Toner is probably the most underestimated step in skincare.
A lot of people still think of it as something that just feels nice after cleansing, or an optional extra you can skip without really missing anything.
But when the formula is doing real work, you notice the difference.
Less reactivity. Less of that tight, unsettled feeling after cleansing.

A routine that feels more balanced overall.
That is exactly why this one has become such a strong repeat purchase for Earthwoven.
It is not the loudest product in the range.
But it is one people tend to miss once they stop using it.
We definitely thought we understood the trend before we started filming it 🤣 Thankfully, the Earthwoven routine is a lot easier to figure out

One thing we have learnt from years of customer feedback is that people are not necessarily looking for more skincare. They are looking for products they actually like using, understand, and can keep coming back to without second-guessing their whole routine.
That is the standard we want every Earthwoven product to meet âś…

Three months of Desana using Earthwoven morning and night.
When she started, her skin was visibly red, reactive and uneven, with breakouts across her cheeks, chin and forehead.
Three months later, the biggest thing we notice is how much calmer her skin looks overall.
There is a clear reduction in redness, fewer inflamed breakouts, and her skin looks much more settled.
And this is exactly why we keep talking about consistency.
Skincare progress is not always dramatic, linear or instant.
Real skin still has texture.
Real skin still has the odd breakout.
Real skin changes slowly.
The goal is not to wake up one day with “perfect” skin.
The goal is progress.
Desana has kept it simple:
Gentle Foaming Cleanser
Calming Spritz Toner
Soft Hydrating Moisturiser
Morning and night for three months.
Same routine.
Same products.
Enough time to actually see what her skin was doing.
This is real skin, real progress and a really good example of what consistency can look like over time.
*Everyone’s skin is different and Desana’s results are her own.
Speaking yesterday about my story and the last four years of building Earthwoven made me realise something.
There is so much to learn in the first few years of business.
You learn marketing.
You learn numbers.
You learn finance, investment and capital.
You learn manufacturing, branding, content creation, operations.
You wear every hat, and unless you are coming into business with a huge amount of experience already, you have to learn as you go.
But at the same time, there is another kind of learning happening too.
You grow yourself.
Earthwoven has taught me so much about what I can and cannot control. Other people’s responses, other people’s reactions, how to act professionally instead of personally, where boundaries need to sit, how to back myself, how to build confidence, how to accept failure and keep moving anyway.
That internal growth is such a massive part of business.
In my experience, the commercial side does not really work without it either. You can learn the numbers and the strategy, but if you cannot manage yourself through pressure, criticism, setbacks, uncertainty and other people’s opinions, it becomes very hard to keep building.
And the internet is loud now.
People are loud.
Opinions are everywhere.
Everyone has access to everyone.
So I think it is really important to remember that we are all on our own path, learning different things at different times.
Being in a room yesterday with women who were genuinely interested, supportive, encouraging and wanting to connect with each other was such a good reminder of that.
Collaboration over competition has always been something I really believe in.
There is enough room for all of us to do well ✍🏼
The annoying thing about skincare is you can research something for three weeks and still not know exactly how your skin will feel about it until you use it.
That’s why we made the Trial Kit. Same routine, smaller commitment, enough time to actually get to know the products ✅
