Can skincare erase vertical upper lip lines?

No - and that is not a failure of skincare.

These lines reflect skin ageing, sun exposure, lost support and a mouth that spends all day speaking, smiling, eating and drinking.

Good skincare can improve hydration, texture and the appearance of finer lines.

Treatment options are:

1 - Retinoids have the strongest topical evidence.
2 - Bakuchiol is a well-tolerated alternative with promising, but more limited, evidence.
3 - Lasers and some microneedling treatments may create greater change.
4 - Botox and fillers are not automatically wrong, but around the mouth they require an experienced medical practitioner and very careful technique.

Does Hyaluronic Acid Have To Go on Damp Skin?

NO! 🙃

Applying a hydrating serum product to slightly damp skin can be a practical way to keep a little water at the surface. It may also help the product spread.

But damp skin does not magically transport hyaluronic acid into the deeper skin layers.
A well-formulated product can still work on dry skin and applying a moisturizer after humectants is definitely important to lock the moisture in.
